Thanks folks. Note to self: glass half FULL :)
Go Chester! I hope you've caught the bottom with that trade.
Sorry to be negative today, folks, just had a run of bad luck generally recently and RENE getting battered isn't helping! I'm still not selling until I get my £40 a share.
I'm afraid that sadly Woodford's connection to RENE is killing the SP and so long as he's still got a massive stake it's going to continue to do so. Potential new investors are being put off because even if there is good news they're worried he's just going to sell in to it and no one will see any gains.
It's sickeningly bad luck for RENE to be caught up in this.
All we can do is wait it out and hope by some miracle someone else takes over his entire holding, but it's an enormous sum of money for anyone to invest in what, let's face it, is a supremely speculative prospect. There aren't many big investors with that sort of appetite for risk.
Feeling depressed with it all today :(
Woodford has sold about 273,494 shares according to my calculations and we get an RNS.
So where is our RNS for the 1,100,000 shares traded at 313.5p on 28th May?
There is no consistency with AIM, it's a joke. Who bought or sold 4 times as many and got away with no disclosure?
They certainly have done it in the past because I've listened to them, but I agree that you wouldn't bother if you knew you were going to be announcing anything downbeat.
They previously said they'd release the 2nd cohort data at a conference, which seemed a bit of an odd thing to say. Surely you release news when you have it and it needs to be disclosed. So not sure, Phil, I don't think we can assume either way.
Looks like another tick up is due soon. Hopefully this will see us climb back to £3+ where we would surely be anyway if it wasn't for Woodford's 35%.
What does everyone hope will happen with that, by the way? I'd love to see someone else buying his stake out entirely. Could happen. That would really take the brakes off.
Bloomin heck. Also "cone rod" and not "code rod". That one I blame on predictive text.
Advance humble apologies jackdaw, I meant "a" and not "an" in that first paragraph ;)
Correct. It is specifically targeted at retinitis pigmentosa but it is likely it, or a very similar procedure, will help to reverse deterioration in other degenerative eye disorders. They are likely to try code rod distrophy next (they have said this) and others to follow. It's an sizeable market with no effective treatments currently available.
I think it's very significant if the 2nd cohort have also shown improvements not least because the current sample of 3, whilst enormously encouraging, is such a small number I would like to see further efficacy just to prove that wasn't some kind of fluke and wasn't related to the sandwiches they had after their surgery.
We are surely due that news imminently and an update on the stroke programme feels long overdue.
I've said it before but I'd love to see them get a partner who encourages them to resurrect their peripheral limb ischemia treatment because I believe that has the potential to reach a truly enormous market.
I wonder when our first milestone payment is due from Fosun?
£2.27 to buy. Top up time?
I'll add my welcome, Clive.
I'm trying to be relaxed, and I really am here for the long-haul but, as PC01 alludes, it's somewhat soul destroying to see RENE really start getting it together after all these years and then get caught up in a scandal like Woodford. It's difficult to take. Well I find it so, anyway.
Still, on we go. Without wanting to sound like a scratched record, it's the science that counts here in the end. I'd just like to be able to cash out before I get my bus pass.
I'm watching Eddie Stobart (LSE:ESL), also caught up with Woodford and without fail every time both ESL and RENE go in and out of auction together.
... just an observation!
Long time now with no meaningful RNS. I would like an update. Let us know what's going on, please RENE.
That's pretty good for Woodford. Kier down 80%, Prothena -80%, Provident -79%, Purplebricks -71%, AA -68%

A monkey throwing darts at a copy of the stocks and shares spread page of the FT would've done better.
... but I get your point. It seems completely overdone.
The company must know how the 2nd cohort of patients have got on by now. They must be scrabbling around trying to work out when to announce it.
Call me pedantic but £3 to £2.25 is a drop of 25%
I wonder how his own enormous personal wealth is affected by all this.
Totally agree Manifesto. He's shot himself in the foot.
Well there's a price somewhere where RENE is "worth at least that" despite the pressure from Woodford's duff holding and I suppose we'll settle there.
I wasn't prepared to sell at £3.20 so it's kind of irrelevant in the long-run. This is still a binary shot for me really, either the science works and they'll be worth many many multiples or it doesn't and I lose my cash. That much hasn't changed.
Agreed PC01.
Ideally, however, I'd like Woodford's entire holding to be sold before any good news is announced otherwise any lift will be quickly sold in to.
I still can't believe our dreadfully bad luck getting caught up in this :(
