My other half is part of a team providing a specialist mental health service for NHS staff who are experiencing problems as a result of Covid. Demand keeps growing - so much so they're having to do additional evening sessions, outside their normal PAs.

You're right Bushmaster. Last night's narrative was around vaccination being the basis for relaxation of the restrictions.

The problem is that the vaccination figures are being spun. Once you start to dig into the data you begin to see how shaky the current reliance on vaccination as the basis for reopening is. It's only one strand of a required multi-strand approach, which has to include widespread testing, tracing and infection management. Which we're not getting messaging about at the moment.

Covid-related stocks across the board are bouncing around following the PM's road map announcement. People are thinking that the need for testing - and more rapid testing - is diminishing. It's not...

Let's be honest about the vaccination process. As of close of play yesterday, only 624,325 people have been fully vaccinated (i.e. had the two doses as per the manufacturers' requirements) in the whole of the UK. That's c. 0.93% of the population.

The requirement for testing is going to be with us for a very, very long time.

It's the usual mixed messages from an incompetent buffoon - which means that effectively lockdown is over... before the necessary steps are put in place to prevent R rising.

I didn't suggest he did. Simple fact is he wasn't in the Commons chamber for 3.30 pm when he was scheduled to make his statement. He didn't arrive until 3.33 pm.
