The Paraytec test is a different type of test to the LFTs being manufactured by the likes of ODX and Abingdon. It's more of a threat to lab-based PCR testing, or some of the other machine based tests such as LamPORE, than to LFTs. Both will have their place.

Not hostile at all. Just wondering why people make suggestions about potential mergers with a complete lack of a substantive rationale...

The fact that both companies happen to deal with antibodies doesn't mean they operating in the same field. The fact that they may share a board member or one person moves from one company to another is not necessarily an omen either - we dealing with a relatively small industry and talent pool at a senior level.

ODX is a company in a position of strength. There's no need for a merger and, as far as I am aware, no appetite either.

Why do you believe that a merger may be on the cards?

It's amazing how often we get suggestions that ODX is merging with company or that - but no-one ever seems to be able to provide a substantive rationale for suggesting it.

The government's plans for easing lockdown will be leaked to selected client journalists over the weekend, to help the government gauge the 'Daily Wail Pearl Clutcher' response to the proposals. If they think the gammon have reacted badly to what has been leaked, the government will tweak the plans before Johnson makes the formal announcement on Monday afternoon.

Whichever way it goes, it will be beneficial to ODX.
