You also claimed (on the RMS thread) that surgical medical masks don't require CE marking - which is again not correct.

You're the one also claiming that surgical medical masks don't need CE marking, which is patently incorrect...

I'm afraid you're wrong on that. Surgical/medical face masks are Class 1 medical devices and are required to conform with the requirements of the Medical Devices Directive and the Medical Devices Regulations, which includes a requirement for CE marking.

It isn't. There are other patented anti-viral masks in the marketplace already. What makes the RMS different is going to be the unit cost.

Yes you could have sold yesterday and still got the dividend. There's a difference between the execution date of a deal and the settlement date of a deal (the date when the transaction is actually finalised).

On the London Stock Exchange the settlement date is T+2 (trade execution date plus 2 working days). When buying share, you don't actually onw them until the settlement date. And when selling , you retain ownership until the settlement date (when they then transfer to the new owner).

This is important to remember when you are dealing with dividend payments.

That's sales to third parties. There's no reason to believe that, as the moment, there have been any. It's most likely DHSC won't authorise any until they're satisfied that there is a sufficient stock built up to serve their needs.

Sales in and of themselves are not market sensitive.

The nub of it is, the UK-RTC developed the test with public funding. It requires the consent of DHSC in order to sell to third parties (other than HM Government). The Commericalisation Agreement lays out the terms on which sales to third parties will be undertaken - and it makes clear that HMG gets a cut of any sales to third parties...

...which gives HM Government an incentive, once it has secured its own supply, to allow sales to third parties. Which is to our benefit!

There's a difference between the date the award is published and the date the award was made. The government are not following the rules on publication - they're publishing them long after they're supposed to.

When did you buy the shares?

If you bought them on or before the 9 December, then you'll get the dividend - and you can sell them now and still get the dividend.

If you bought them yesterday, then you won't get the dividend.

I'm not sure what figures you're looking at... on 2 December (the day before the Special Dividend announcement on 3 December) the closing price was 35.5p

The simple fact is the fundamentals of the company haven't changed. It has sufficient reserves to move forward with the investment programmes that it has planned.

And the reason it is investing is to make money for shareholders... which is exactly what it has done.

So where's this elusive 10p that certain people were predicting?
