"Regulator, I agree although we have yet to achieve the necessary approvals to produce tests from anywhere in the world."
Err... not quite. We do have tests which are already registered and recognised for professional POC use in the UK and the EU. What we are waiting for is self test approval - and again we've been somewhat screwed over by the government changing the approvals process, primarily in response to Daily Heil headlines about testing firms (rather than diagnostic manufacturers) ripping off the public.
" The contract may have been one sided to a degree but ODX would not have had the opportunity to alter much, indeed they would have been foolish not to sign it, we have ended up with the cash and the machines on site and ready to go. "
And the government could have, under the Covid Act emergency provisions, commandeered the ODX capacity/facilities anyway...
"Okehurst, whilst I am currently far from happy with ODX BoD, let’s not forget that the villains here are those within HMG who have continually ordered Chinese tests instead of using the UK suppliers that they had put on notice. Disgraceful."
Not only 'put on notice' but effectively restricted from trading freely...
"RegulatorUk
If I had a pound for everytime someone says.. Wait till the American markets open we will fly, I would be a very wealthy man now!"
Absolutely! It's a classic sign of people not understanding how the markets and trading actually works...
"The amount of operating being missed because a previous patient had tested positive post op must be massive. This leads to theatres needing deep cleaning before any more procedures can take place."
Nope - as all patients are tested prior to a surgical admission or, in the case of emergencies, before getting to theatre. The NHS and IS providers are very good at these sort of IPC actions and reductions in theatre capacity due to patient infectivity is minimal. The main reasons for reductions in theatre capacity are staff-related (e.g. my other half not being able to see patients whilst I was isolating with Covid).

"Regulator Covid may not be over, but this company will end up like it has before signing contracts to help out but nothing actually coming of the contracts"
ODX did the right thing (as did other companies in the same filed0 and stepped when the government asked them to. Unfortunately, they were dealing with a bunch of incompetent. corrupt charlatans - I think in future it will be a case of 'once bitten, twice shy'...
And now that the DHSC contact is over, and the Covid Act emergency powers are no longer in force, then ODX has freedom to trade.
"If the BOD were confident about the company surely they should be buying stock whilst the sp is so low…. They need to show confidence that the company is heading in the right direction….at the moment the ship is rudder less and is just a cash burner imo"
Because the trolls that are TWatchers multiple personalities/accounts would claim that the BoD had deliberately tanked the share price in order to buy in cheaper... the troll playbook is so transparent.
The emergence of a new super variant merely emphasises the point I made yesterday - this pandemic is not over by any means. Particularly as it appears that there are cases in the UK...
I remain confident that ODX remains a solid long term investment, and that the focus purely on Covid related activity is misplaced.
"To put that in the RNS today 'contract expired' sounds like DHSC has actively decided not to complete the contract."
I think that is exactly what has happened. They've done Phase 1 and decided not to proceed to Phase 2. I reckon that's Treasury driven, as this was a Contract for supply to government and we know that Sunak wants to move the burden of testing costs from government to individuals wherever possible.
It wouldn't surprise me if DHSC hasn't given the correct notice though...
What I am looking to now is EU and US authorisation, as we know that there is a shortage of LFTs in both jurisdictions. If the contract has lapsed/expired then that removes any restrictions on third party sales/exports that DHSC could impose under the Contract.
Anyway, I shall try and get to this afternoon's presentation but I can't guarantee I will. I'm due on a call with DHSC shortly and those have a habit of overrunning...
"This bit intrigues me - both ODX and DHSC assumed an extension, but then when DHSC asked, they wouldn't confirm? To then state expired seems a bit of a jump?"
The Contract itself isn't particularly well drafted - and ODX would have had limited ability to amend it. The Contract does, in section 9, talk about an extension to the Longstop Date - but it reads as a single extension (as it doesn't specify that it can be extended more than once which you would expect it to). So I would agree with ODX's lawyers interpretation.
The good thing is that if the Contract has lapsed and is not reinstated then this could be in ODX's favour, as it removes any right for DHSC to restrict third party sales.
What are you incoherently blathering on about?
I think some people are reading into the RNS what they want to see and some others simply don’t understand it. Unfortunately as this is a PI-led share the inevitable will happen.
These results are roughly in line with what I expected. It mirrors to a greater extent what is happening elsewhere in the health and diagnostic sectors. I certainly won’t be selling - it’s payday and I’ll be adding.
Some people seem to have forgotten that we’re only about halfway through this pandemic, with a winter wave building in continental Europe, and the NHS struggling to cope here in the UK as the vaccination programme struggles to reach many high risk groups.
I’m here for the long term and I am more than happy with - and confident in - my ODX investment.
Yes, they did.
"I had my 2x AZ vaccine jabs and last Friday had the Pfizer booster and I'm as strong as a bull, the only problem that I have now is that my libido level is over the roof and my partner is not keen much in the other room...constant hard on"
Wait until you have the 'flu jab... that's sort it.
;-)
"Regulator,2 weeks with little or no internet..can u take TWatcher and co. with you please ?"
That wouldn't be much of a holiday for me though, would it? Mind you, my other half's a psychiatrist so he might be able to help TW with his multiple personality disorder...
"Where are you going?"
We're off on a cruise to Spain and Portugal. Not my first choice but we were limited due to work demands restricting when we could both get leave together.
I'm off on holiday on Wednesday. Two weeks with limited or no internet. So I fully expect a transformative announcement...
"What’s your salary Ragingcow38?"
What does McDonalds pay these days?
To be fair to the TWatcher, European recognition of the tests (CE marking) only applies to EU member states.
Someone's filling a large order I reckon...
