Esv That's a test vehicle? If so, it would need a back up driver. If it's not a test vehicle, such as an AV taxi, it doesn't need a driver /chaperone. American legislation is somewhat all over the place. A fact highlighted by a number of experts in the US. .

So, a week or two ago, Waymo's taxis were to have a chaperone ( driver?) and now no mention of a chaperone with Waymo quoting it's 9,000,000 miles of real road testing as though this was enough to prove the technology. Confusing to say the least and if there is no chaperone (driver) irresponsible at least. With initially 600 AV taxis on the road, the chances of accidents (at fault or not) happening which may set back AV for some time increase substantially. Let alone any human cost. American regulation /legislation does not help either. With Waymo taking this route does this affect the value of our data, the value which no one knows anyway?

Uber stopped their testing after an AV with a driver had a fatal accident. Now Waymo plans to send out a fleet of driverless taxi's? Talk about watching an AV car crash in slow motion!

Terry You're absolutely right, all shareholders deserve the RNS to drop PDQ. I think the Panmure note said it all, I suspect some IIs haven't been too impressed by the (lack of) corporate governance that's been evident recently. Maybe having a CEO who is also the Chairman ain't the best of ideas and hopefully Jack and the new COO will get a handle on it. I remember people remarking at the investor presentation KK saying his main priority was the employees. Well, without shareholders there wouldn't be employees so I question the wisdom behind KKs sentiment and hope Jack has a different outlook. At the moment, he appears to be going in the right direction but, yes, RNS' released in a timely manner and also positively worded are needed as of now!
