The value of Phulbari20 Mar 2021 10:45
Despite all the calls to abandon the use of coal, the demand continues to rise.
-China has secured most of the Asia production, for it's own use, and the rest of the world has been left to chase what is left.
-Coal has now risen by over 81% since Sept 2020, and shows no signs of reversing.
With about 570 mill tns of coal, now worth about $91 a Ton, this is asset that cannot be allowed to stay in the ground, and forgotten.
-The arguments for the need of power, and the benefits the project will add to the Bangladesh economy, are becoming louder every day, and the value of the Phulbari project cannot be overstated.
-As Bangladesh (and the rest of the world) return to some sort of normality, things will gather pace, and a decision, by the GOB, will have to be made, as to whether they use this natural resource, or leave it in the ground forever-------------
---The sheer $ value of Phulbari, and the weight of the Chinese partners, will not let this project fade away, ---one way or another, this will get presented to the GOB (almost certainly this year), and a decision will have to be made.
