Of course better for RMG because GLS are "bringing home the bacon" Where is the benefit to GLS? It should be spun off and allowed to flourish.
RMG must be able to make meaningful changes in order to be profitable and must certainly live within its means.

The effect of shelving renationalasation does of course depend on the location. I suspect it's a distant dusty shelf that won't see the light of day.

JB. We have both been here long enough to have a feel for the events as they unfold. No doubt in my mind the old guard want a return to the "good old days"
Point is do the British public want to support them with hard earned income. Some posties obviously do a good day's work but always an element that looks on the picket line as a welcome change from a mundane life.
Personally I'm tired of hearing anti shareholder rhetoric. Give me a straight forward business without the personalities.
No matter what Simon does or says many will have negative comments. But he knew what was in store for him. He will have to take it on the chin that's why he gets the big bucks.

Thank you once again for a very helpful post.
I believe the shorters etc, will remain while RMG has the constant battle with the CWU.
Therefore spin off GLS and allow it to flourish. The RMG workforce will then be the masters of their own destiny.
Perhaps then reality will sink in.
