The reason why it hasn't worked is blatantly obvious!

The key there is "element" they needed to reduce the workforce strategically not merely cut the number. They now have a reduced workforce which still contains an element of workshy con artists.

Increasing manpower levels is a lazy way to attempt a solution. Plus of course it's costly and another nail in the IDS.coffin.

The Company became bloated with an element of workshy con artists. It now needs to ensure maximum productivity from those that remain. Once this happens any shortfalls if any can be addressed.

Once the pay deal is eventually sorted the next big items are start/finish times and annualised hours. Big bad Dave will go for a work to rule as we can keep that up all year without affecting our basic pay. And anyone who knows delivery knows the impact of that. It won't have the media coverage of all out strikes but will be effective. The postie's United will never be defeated lol.

Oli. In truth I actually agree with both your conclusions. I just get so tired of the language used.

The I. D.S elements are Management, Personell, Owners. All equally important despite what some may think.

As an Owner I fully accept that money must not be taken out of the Company if its detrimental. Surely this should be the attitude generally. I. D. S isn't a cash cow and shouldn't be sucked dry.

Interesting how the money language alters when it's cwu/company.
