It happened in March when they sold property. (BIg drop but c150 given as payment via B Share) It then looks like they have one last property to sell. The proceeds of that will then be given to shareholders.

So all in, it looks like its just a winding down of the business and proceeds of sales distributed via B shares.

It looks like if you hold a Ord Share on a certain date, you are entitled to a B share.

The B Share is then what gets the 55p payout (not the ord share). I assume the date has passed hence the drop today as people are offloading the Ord Share (but will still get the payout)

So in summary although there has been a big drop today, that is not really lost as made up via a payout on the B share.

I could be wrong but its something like that!!!

That cant be the case deckchair. If they was paying 55p per share when delisting that would be the price today (or near as damn it)

Its all a bit confusing around A and B shares!

Not 100% sure but reading this RNS from the recent EGM. This had a 99% vote in favour does it mean they are delisting the current shares?

Over 8% rise this morning at time of typing. No RNS, no results, anyone know why the leap?

I was reading thagt lots of pandemic 'savings' have pretty much gone. This has resulted in trillions of deposits moving awayh (which are banks cheapest momney to lend)

Did you get in with another bulk or still watching from the sidelines?

My 15yo son went Cineworld on Saturday night for an 8pm film. Was just him and his mate in the screen! Yes the film had been out for a few weeks but I actually think some of these multi-screen venues could do with streamlining and reducing back down to 4-5 screens. The days of 10-15 screens surely cannot be viable moving forward.

All this talk of purchasing shares with Dividend got me thinking, does this have impact on share price going up as lots of buyers with the Divi. Never crossed my mind before.

We seem to be hitting the 'electric fence' at just before 150 and dropping back, both yesterday and today. Once it breaks through then on we trot!!

I would like to think when Q1 results are annoucned in a few weeks we will see a further rise. As long as no more banking turmoil and no further skeletons come out for Barclays (Fines etc..) then this will hopefully be pushing back around the £2 mark by Q3. We all know that Higher Interest rates is a postive and it doesnt look like we will fall into a recession. The only thing that may be a concern is increased provision for bad debts/write offs.

I dont think the payment date will have any impact. The day it went ex-divi may have done but that was a few weeks back now.

If that 90m is distributed across the remaing 15billion shares, it would be another 0.6p on the divi.

Belgrano - I think your maths are wrong!

If we are talking the 1.5 billion x 6p divi for cancelled shares, then that equates to £90m. The half the salary of the board might still be right!!!!
