RE: potential energy11 Oct 2018 15:45
Each trial is preceded by a number of development tasks and also satisfying the regulatory authority.
But let's summarise the current position
Modi1 is financed to start using money from the oo/placing
Let's also assume the modi2 development is also financed by this (Scancell did say this)
Modi3 is financed if we win the grand challenge.
A deal with Biontech will help to finance whatever Scancell see fit. This is assuming there is an upfront payment.
This is an unknown at present but, as Inan has already pointed out, 1 deal could lead to further deals as Moditope becomes successful.
To me, the key has always been the Modi1 trial. The first sign of success will certainly convert potential energy to kinetic energy. And that means that, if an extra placing is required, the share dilution will be much less.
I would also not discount more financial help from Cruk.
As for the speed of getting multiple modi trials underway well, it all depends on Scancell's resources and their determination to not share the IP. The 3 card trick of winning the GC, a deal with Biontech and initial signs of Mod1 success will, IMHO, see us home and dry.
Not to forget that we also have 2 immunobody trials.
Going back to Scancell's limited resources, then I would not expect every deadline to be met. Some events will be outside Scancell's control as we are seeing now with the scib1 combo trial.
So, in summary, I feel Scancell have enough on their plate with the current timetable.
