On that subject the CRUK page that shows trial progress was last updated April 2018 with the status of the SCIB2 trial as "due diligence". Can be expect an update in April then?

For a small bio I think luck also sometimes plays a part.

The first 9 candidates for the SCIB1 trial all failed the HLA test which has a 50% chance of succeeding,
The chances of this happening I calculate as 1 in (2 to the power of 9) i.e. 1 in 512, all things being equal.

Then when it came to doing a deal on the back of the SCIB1 trial results, nothing happened. This may well have been because cancer vaccines were out of fashion at the time.
If that first trial had been conducted with TCR generated TCells (identical in every respect to the activated TCells generated by SCIB1), I can't help feeling that big pharma would have done a deal.

Then with the SCIB1 combo trial, who could have foreseen who long it would take the FDA to approve the Trigrid production version for clinical trials.

With a large pharma luck will even itself out over the many trials they are preparing at any point in time. With the Scancells of this world a bit of good luck would not come amiss.

To my mind there is a clear difference between ramping and being enthusiastic about the products of a company.

The idea of having sophisticated diagnostics to indicate what existing vaccines/other treatments suits a particular patient seems much more realistic to me compared to the creation of personalised vaccines.
