There is nothing socialistic about the autocratic regime in Russia. As a small POG shareholder, I don't think that running a successful company and sharing some of its fortunes with the local community are mutually exclusive.

It wouldn't surprise me if the new CEO will try and out any bad news on his first report, only to make the subsequent reporting look good. As for the bitcoin, any future price prediction is a complete nonsense as it is a new asset class and hasn't established it's actual value yet.

Why speculate if the actual results are out tomorrow?

UDF, just because there is back to back coverage of Navalny's escapades on the mainstream western media, it doesn't mean that he actually has a popular base in the Russian Federation. The Federation is politically stable as far as the POG investors are concerned.

If the unexpected 9.2% rise in share price is due to early viewing of the RNS by some, then clearly a more robust approach to management is seem as positive by some.

There is nothing that can not be resolved through discussion and negotiate. The new CEO has demonstrated his inexperience and inability to calm the matters. I feel that he is either out of his depth or being given bad advice. His time could be better spent meeting with the institutional investors and appointing an auditor rather than fighting over access to an office in Moscow. I for one, have very little confidence in him.

It may be the Amur media but it also highlights the level of local hostility towards the new management. The new management is clearly trying to wrestle control from the old guard. Not sure if they are going about it the right way but it might be the Russian way. I remain hopeful but it does not bode well.

Serious stuff! As a professional engineer (not mining) I found Pavel's introduction of Zero Harm initiative to improve the company's safety record an enlightened move. He certainly had vision and cared for his workers and commanded their respect. These are qualities that any longterm shareholder should be looking for in a company.

All we need now is for the new Chair and the CEO to purchase a respectable number of POG shares as evidence of their confidence and commitment to the business.

Looking at the resolutions passed with the greatest of margins, the institutional investors were clearly on board for these resolutions. They would never have vote to destroy value of their own investments. It seems that only the 'IND' directors left to declare future intensions.

It seems the majority voted for a clean break with the past and a fresh start.
