Digging a trench on land and on on the seabed is much the same as is the testing. Testing normally done after constructed, done once laid in the trench and done again once covered. Depending on where the pipe is being laid it may not required to be covered. The pipe work is only part of the workscope being undertaken at the moment.

No as for this big thing you have with the timing of the bottleneck works. This isn't like cooking a chicken, it is an estimate. Lots of things can throw the timing out so please don't get too hung up on it. I've sat on pipelay boats for 6 weeks waiting to get started on the pipework only for them to spend that time surveying the seabed. In the end it takes what it takes. Offshore talk but you get the deal.

Another failure under MH would have been the companies demise. We don't know what Campo Limite holds but I think there's a growing feeling even within the disciples that it may not be as big as hoped. The longer the delay the more odd it seems
So for now the best that can be hoped for is a steady increase in production from the works being done and also promised.

MH is doing a job. The bottleneck works and the workovers are general maintenance of old infrastructure, it's something every well or field has to go through during it's lifetime.

I think the question should be what should we be paying him? keeping in mind how much of a profit and what returns he has produced. Before you jump on the repositioning of the debt that comes a a cost to all.

I agree that the SP will slide a bit more over yet. The only time frame that has been given is an estimate for the bottleneck works, with the work over works and reopening of the closed in wells not having a time frame as such.

It will more than likely be a plastic pipe much the same was we use for drinking water in the uk. Cheaper and mass produced in long lengths. Transfer it to holding tanks and then pumped under high pressure down into the reservoir underground. we use fluid mostly as it doesn't compress like air or a gas.
If you think of it as a garden sprayer you pump air into a part filled tank and it sprays out. air compresses more so you need to pump more in to get the fluid out.
Put you finger over a bicycle pump and it will move a fair way day as the air compresses. do the same but putting the pump in water it will not move much. you can use different fluids to get the same results.

Good chance the black is a water pipe with the raised manifold being used as and means of air vent. The red being a product line. you can see the old metal water pipe on the earth mound pretty well corroded. The water is used in water injection systems using high pressure pumps to flood the depleted wells or low pressure wells to stimulate hydrocarbon recovery.
Petrol needs to be produced and is a product of oil it doesn't come out of the ground like that.

The water injection site doesn't have to be close to the well head but does require to be pumped into the same field. But the injector pump normally is close to the injection point on land.

Most posters in here live in the UK which has most of it's OnG wells offshore so you would presume that the only place I've worked is offshore or that the only industry that uses pipelines and large scale pipework would be oil companies. It is mind blowing the pipework on our 2 new aircraft carries and that oil service companies were involved in building these beasts. my point is please don't be as narrow minded to think that everyone or anyone is as simple as you try to make them out to be.
Many skills people learn are very transferable as well as sot after within other industries.
