Silles - market maker tactics to scare people into selling, and trigger automated stop losses. Classic MM games. You know when they are doing it, as you cannot get a buy quote, and the price goes back up quickly.

Year1970: works for me. Having lost all my work after Covid 19 hit, I had to find another income stream. Every day, when trading opens at 8am, I never know which stocks are going into the blue. Today, the big surprise was Erris. Most of my portfolio is in the red most days, but it only takes half a dozen a week to go blue to keep the money coming in.

I did the same - created a S&S ISA with HL for my son (just last week). I put NCYT in there at 570p, so doing nicely. AMGO - not so well...

Interesting perspective, Year1970. Maybe I am one of the 'lucky' ones, but I am consistently earning £2k per week, mainly on AIM stocks. VAL is one of around 100 stocks in my portfolio, and I've made about £900 on selling on the highs.

Difficult to get any kind of consensus on these boards....but I we know deals are being struck, and that it's almost impossible for people not to speculate - or indeed, that stuff starts leaking out. Thing is, if news doesn't come within the next day or two, the SP will start drifting down.
