Wake up to the real world, son.
What do you expect when we have google, Facebook amazon, Microsoft, ibm, eBay, Facebook not to mind intel etc. all situated within a 20 miles radius of each other competing for the same talent, competing to pay the highest wages, competing to offer the best terms and driving ordinary folk who may have less education and prospects to pay prices they can ill afford for a place to sleep.
On top of that your have TCD business school building a huge facility in barrow street to attract the brightest and best to dublin where they will settle, never leave and add to the congestion.
On top of that you have UCC spending €300 million on college road in cork where there is huge congestion and very little accomodation for the students that will attend that same facility while a bare 40 miles up the road you have, shops, schools and pubs closed in country areas and trees where there was once fields and crows where there was once people.
You have a Taoiseach pounding around wearing multi coloured socks and a Td picking his nose while he draws a salary of over €100k a year and wins most of the state road contracts in his area.
Who the hell do you vote for because if you do vote you get what you vote for.
While these imbalances exist you can moan and groan all you like but what I suggest is that you get off your softer area and do something about it like moving to Athy or kerry where there is plenty of cheap houses fine schools and small shops and pubs with the finest characters alive to keep rural Ireland from dying while so called politicians who draw huge salaries to so call represent those areas.
The politicians and regulatory and those responsible for spatial strategy in Ireland should hang their heads in utmost shame for the mess they have created for the benefit of a few and foe the detriment of all.
Now, answer that, son.
