Afternoon all
Over the last few days a few of us have discussed where ARB might expand to. For those that haven't see the thread (with bizarre typo in the title - may bad) we seemed to net out as something like this:
1. Core business - BTC mining (+ other crypto flexed for max profitability) based at wholly owned sites recently purchased in CA and US (Texas).
2. Growth business - POS - e.g. our stake in Pluto + other business partnerships in this fledgling area
3. Green energy - Texas facility has the potential for ARB to grow into this area? Could be a way to sell surplus green energy back to the network and thus further reduce costs.
4. Blockchain & DeFi next ? who knows where PW will take us but it does seem like this whole area is just getting started.
When I look at it like this the opportunities for LT growth are incredible. Time to zone out and enjoy the sunshine ;)
Bishop you do realise your other posts are free for people to see? e.g. this one from you on the UFO board...
"I forwarded this on our little fwends over at ARB. They were most unhappy with me. Can't see how and I'm very, very upset."
Bishop, UFO board, 30/5/21
So you are evidently trying to stir up a reaction (as if we didn't know already).
Suggest you go and get a life. It is lovely and sunny and there really are better things to do. It makes difference whatsoever to most of us and all you do is highlight what a sad little man you are.

I was told ARB would open at £1 today - it hasn't
I was told that BTC would drop below $30k - it hasn't
I was told India had banned BTC - it hasn't
I was told China had banned BTC - it hasn't
I was told BTC would see huge volatility over the holiday weekend - it didn't
There is me, making plans to take advantage of all these things and yet they do not happen. It is almost as if someone is deliberately misleading me whilst quietly working to their own plan behind the scenes. Ummm....
Exactly Argo. Anyone else get the impression that load of people are waiting to pile back into BTC? In the meantime maybe the likes of BlackRock are quietly buying up at $36k (quite a discount to $64k).
Yes indeed .ztarz - lots of evidence the buy and LT hold when you have picked a winner is the right one.
Was out yesterday, thanks for asking - so happy to be free of winter kit finally

Actually in all seriousness i am hopeful that owning ARB could be a bit like owning Apple or Alphabet.
Buy, hodl and then only withdraw anything when you need the cash
Buy BTC, store it on Nexo and earn 5-8% on it
And that is when this gets really interesting
Def more than just a btc mining co IMHO
Yes exactly
Isn’t there scope for a huge upgrade in total power output beyond our known plans?
If gives us options to host other miners and/or sell back to the network as you say.
Could it potentially be possible to get to a negative energy cost, ie a mining margin of 100%+
That would be nice
A little sunburnt but the hula hula girls seem to like applying the aftersun
Delacey has everything covered here
Which is nice
CMEU do you mean all the people who are in profit? Every single person who has invested and held for 4 years or more are in profit.
That is far from true of many stocks or PMs. If I had bought gold 10 years ago it would be worth almost exactly the same in USD as today (and would have fallen nearly 50% in between). A terrible negative return allowing for inflation.
Or lets pick 2 super popular shares...
Rolls Royce? I'd have half my money if I invested there 10 years ago..
Lloyds bank? Pretty much flat compared to 10 years ago but if I had bought 20 years ago I would have 1/10th of my investment.
If I had bought BTC 10 years ago...well you don't want to know,
Even after this 'crash' it is still twice the high of the 2018 'bubble'. Even if it goes to $20k, it will be higher.
You do not get it, that is fine. But to be clear 1 tweet does not make or break it. It sits and thrives on the fundamental question of 'what is money?'
Happy to debate but I am reluctant to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
yep that would make sense.
I do expect us to have a core base business of highly profitable mining that can be flexed in either bull or bear
And then some POS growing business over the top of this that provides added profitability. Likely be longer term to turn a profit but I suspect once Texas up and running that will be the focus.
Also think Texas and energy could be an area for exploration. the capacity there compared to our plans does leave options.
We may end up a green energy company that mines BTC / optimal profit crypto + POS DeFi opportunities.
Good afternoon fellow Argonauts.
One thing PW has been super keen to state is that ARB is 'more than a BTC miner, a blockchain technology company'.
Given we know the general direction of travel of BTC long term and that we are c. half way through this BTC bull run, perhaps we can use part of this quiet time to discuss where ARB will go beyond mining BTC.
We know we have our PLUTO stake and we will learn more of the value given impending IPO, but what else for ARB in the POS / broader DeFI & blockchain space?
I am sure PW has plans given his narrative and do feel he wants to set ARB up so that it is also highly profitable when BTC does enter a bear market.
Anyone been thinking about the direction we might go beyond Pluto? Any hints or titbits been spotted?
Cheers

hahaha .zstarz
ironically if they put any money they do have into BTC it could actually save them!
and we will treat that as a chance to BUY
as will my next answer - BlackRock
Evening all, rather than engage with idiots, for those around, lets play a game where we each try to name an institutional investor / traditional financial services provider who has put significant investment into BTC / BTC related stock.
We take it in turns and you get knocked out if you repeat an answer.
I will start...

Completely agree with you both.
Will keep half an eye on things but actually will switch off - we know the way this is going later this year and if anything this tweet makes me even more confident.
Will sleep well

BlackRock eh. Makes sense.
Volatility to come this weekend then.
Are they not rich enough already you ask yourself
Good for us long term i guess and it signals more insti interest
@ratherbelucky - that sounds spot on to me, thanks
@herdie - indeed, silly me!!
Good weekends all Argonauts

Joking aside it would be good to get Albert's take on this given his years in the city.
Agree with others there is a different feeling here at the moment and we have been largely independent of BTC today.
I do sense some news but again could also just be bank holiday fever...
