Benchmark expected Tesla to produce 200 GWh of battery cells in 2030, whereas Tesla’s plan is 3,000 GWh (3 TWh).
Benchmark expected 2.7 TWh of global battery production (from all companies) in 2030, whereas Tesla plans to produce 3 TWh itself, and procure more from other battery producers. (And the rest of the industry needs some batteries too.)

So we already expected demand for Lithium to be huge by 2030. But this article suggests its going to be 15 times the current projections.

More than a decade ago, 800,000 tonnes of lithium were discovered in Mexico. Then, in 2014, Bacanora Minerals located reserves of 10 times more than that. It seems that Mexico is sitting on a giant pile of lithium. This deposit was found in Sonora in a region that is 1.4 times larger than England. It contains more than 8 million tonnes of lithium.

Musk’s message was simple: acceleration of EV production and other sustainable-energy initiatives requires supply chain disruption: “Make the value chain as simple as possible,” he advised. Partly, that involves minimising the steps from mining to battery production, plus reducing the volume of materials transported to create the final product. What Musk was advocating is the production of lithium chemicals at mine sites to reduce logistics costs.

Isn't that what sonora is doing. That is converting into Lithium on site rather than sending raw material off the China for processing into Lithium

1. Extra Capacity ?? Wind - Charge overnight on cheap rate Electric. - Feeds from other counties via Grid Connections. Like EDF do 9pm to 7am weekdays and All weekend Electric for EV Owners. France has grid connection to UK and most of electric is Nuclear - always producing
2. I live in London - Charge of 13 amp socket most of the time for 2.3kw per hour (3% )of 72kw Battery. Also London has lots of chargers see ZapMap. There are 30 7kw at my local council run Gym. Tesla Supercharger at Brent Cross, Westfield, Canary Wharf, Park Royal and dotted around M25. There lots of 50kw Rapid chargers within a few miles on the main roads. Lots of Supermarkets have 7kw chargers that are free.
3. Long distance - I went to Spain on Superchargers in July and came back on Superchargers in September clocked up 4,700 miles. No problem even charging on 5kw Supermercado charges and 2.3kw domestic plugs. Drove London to West Bromwich and back last weekend - got free 7kw charging at Hotel which easily took me back to 90%. Total cost for 270 miles round trip £6.50 to get back to 90% after returning - soon to be £4 when I switch to EDF EV Tariff.

Hydrogen is not the way. Very inefficient compared to Batteries. Also can't produce enough electric to compete with Battery Electric cars. Look at the Toyota Fuel cell 150hp vs a Tesla 450hp. And Fuel Cells car also need a big battery. And you can plug them in almost anywhere - 13amp plugs are fine if you're driving 100mles or so a day.

I have one. I think the people most affected by covid are not those that can afford a new car anyway. There are still people with money.

BP also own the Polar EV Charging network and are installing charging points at their Petrol Stations - there are four 150kw chargers at Hamersmith. This is very important. Things are now moving. Ganfeng wouldn't be doing this unless it intends to bring this to market on time for the expected increase in demand in battery storage and electric vehicles.

Electric cars are great I just spent 6 weeks travelling to Spain and back for a cost of £262 in supercharger fees. And at maximum allowed speed limits. 5000 miles of trouble free motoring. And no annual service needed for electric cars. Cost to buy high but fun to drive.

Interesting that he says finance 75% covered by current RK Loan and Existing shareholders Ganfeng and M&G.

So maybe not much of a share dilution by way of new shares issued.

Also finance to be raised Q1 2021. And he expects share price to raise once Engineering, Procurement and Construction finalised in Q4 2020.

But as ever shovels expected to be in action in 8 Months.

So nothing expected to change for 5 months.
