BigDano read TCG's own Q2 update in May overall bookings for summer 2019 were 12% down 2018 which was a really bad year due to the great British summer weather.

FACTS

They have plenty of beach resorts in China they will not come all this way just for sun
They will want to go to see the big monuments and experience culture - none of this is TC
Fosun have bought in for investment and return and its gone pear for them on this one
maybe Wolves is doing better for them

There is a lot of talk about Chinese tourists coming to Europe, this I completely get however don't you think they would want to see Paris, London, Rome etc and not Magaluf, Antalya or Bodrum??? TC don't have any flights to mainland China and are not a major city break specialist?

i think you get an offer price which is usually favourable or maybe the option to swap shares for Fosun ones, but am not an expert although have been through this a few times many many years ago 90's

Because Fosun is not a UK company. Thomas Cook will be a brand within the Fosun Conglomerate.

I made some money on this in 2012 i bought at 11p sold over £1. I felt then that there was opportunity to make efficiencies (easy wins if you like) the thing then was to turn the business around achieve growth without spending too much money to get it. They have not achieved that and debt has ballooned since. Equally the brand has fallen in value hence the recent right down. Perhaps the die was cast when they stuck with an outdated business model instead of adopting an online model early on. It is clear that TCG will not exist much longer - the brand will continue but as a company it will not be listed on UK stock exchange once Fosun buy it.
