1. Staff are professional they are not going to moan to a Customer about losing their jobs - as they will put customers off and book elsewhere - if i got the impression from staff they were going out of business i would book with another company and that would make a company go under even if it wasnt
2. They will not know as BOD are not sharing with shop staff every element of strategy
3 They will not have read the annual report
4 They will not understand a Balance Sheet
5 BOD will shut the shops anyway as they are moving to online

Jed it is not the shorters that are putting these employees out of job mate it is the BOD who have run this company so badly

I am not being negative i am giving an analysis of the company as i was invested and potentially would be if i had any faith in the organisation, it is badly run and in a financial mess, if there is a light shining from the end of the tunnel i would highlight it

With regard to other companies Ryanair are an awful business in europe they are responsible for this awful rush to the bottom in the industry of shocking service, degradation of standards and quality of air travel, too many planes in sky, drunken behaviour on planes etc i would never travel with this disgrace of an airline ever again, i would take 2 planes rather than fly direct with ryanair, they are however in a better financial state than TCG

Easyjet and TUI are much more successful companies yes they are now starting to face the pinch but TCG have been struggling for over 10 years and their financials are in a much worse state.

i was making the point that moving from TUI to TCG would be significant as we all know that TUI is a much more successful and profitable company than Thomas Cook, although of course even that would not be conclusive.
However we have no idea how well this Karisma company is doing as we have no results from them.
For all we know it may be in trouble and / or very small so the move to Thomas Cook may be for very different reasons

What is their annual turnover? customers? are they profit making?

The original post gives the impression he has jumped ship from TUI to TCG ... this is not the case, he has moved from of much smaller much less well known company
TUI is very successful and much larger than Thomas Cook, Karisma is not

no they are getting involved because they do not have faith in the short-term survival of Thomas Cook and are nervous about providing holiday insurance to anyone booking with them

Have you read their financial statements? Investor assessments, media reports?
the fact that they are being broke up to lessen debt burden, resting on the remainder being purchased by Chinese company Fosun - whichever way you look Thomas Cook plc will not exist soon

they are very close to going bust, the lenders are dictating now the insurers are getting involved (so they are clearly worried about providing insurance to holidaymakers. The finances are in a mess big losses, massive debt, write downs of brand name, bookings down on last year (which was already a bad year), no buyers for airline (4 months now and no news)
