Well 38Z is one of four wells scheduled to be sidetracked across the Field, in which Block now holds a 100% working interest. The Company will draw on the valuable experience gathered from the drilling of well 16aZ to optimise the completion design for well 38Z.

E-therapeutics EXTENDs RESEARCH collaboration with NOVO NORDISK and signs first agreement on its new "GAINs" functional genomics technology

Oxford, UK, 1st August 2019 - e-therapeutics plc (AIM: ETX, "e-therapeutics") is pleased to announce that it has signed an extension to its existing research collaboration with Novo Nordisk in the type 2 diabetes space. To date, the companies have been using e-therapeutics' proprietary Network-Driven Drug Discovery (NDD) platform to discover potentially novel biological mechanisms and therapeutic approaches for a specific area of type 2 diabetes.

Under the amended agreement, e-therapeutics will now also use its new Genome-Associated Interaction Networks (GAINs) technology to analyse population genomics data from patients with type 2 diabetes. This is the first research agreement for e-therapeutics' new and novel functional genomics technology.

The amendment extends the original contract by six months to June 2020 and will also allow further work to be performed using e-therapeutics' NDD technology. In addition, output from the GAINs collaboration can be included in any subsequent work and commercial agreement.

Block Energy

The market is properly confused by the announcement by Block this morning in particular with regard to the production from West Rustavi field. With people expecting much more, the announcement of 360 boe/d with a water cut of 25% even if that contains mainly drilling fluids, is clearly considered disappointing. I have put in a call but as yet heard nothing back, probably in the field so nothing to worry about.

Block are going to drill the horizontal side-track of the 38Z well this summer which should be good news, something this share desperately needs as I notice some of the recent gloss is beginning to rub off. Social media can be unforgiving especially if it looks like they feel that they have been misreading the runes…

Questions have to be asked when a company produces a headline rate from a well test; the CEO goes on an interview road trips talking about how much free cash flow will be generated; £12 million is raised via an equity issue – and then subsequently initial production rates are just a third of what investors were expecting!
