The only good thing that Boris achieved was getting us out of the EU (not Europe). I am a European and actually agree with Mr T on this, there are many things we can learn from Europe. Admiring European culture and people as I do, does not preclude me from detesting the EU structure and lack of accountability.

Calibre will have done all due diligence by now and will be very well aware of the potential. They are in a very strong position to run down the clock as DDD says. It is a no-lose situation for them. If the interested party drops out - they can step in as saviours at a lower price. If the interested party makes a firm offer - they can step in with a better one.

We often speculate about the POG on this board, but if Trump's "scratched ear" as you put it Mr. T had been 3cm to the left, it would not only have killed him as well as the poor guy behind him, it would have lit a bomb under the POG.

Thank you for explaining the point you were making, but it can be difficult to extract the meaning from your posts when you go off on so many tangents (Ukraine, CO2, gas flaring, oil company profits). It could have been stated quite simply by saying that compared to other taxation regimes on extraction companies, 50% is not unreasonable.

In oil and gas, a single new exploration well (offshore) will cost upwards of 100m dollars, sometimes a lot more. The average success rate is 1 in 6, so how are the O&G operators going to finance exploration without good profits? Gold miners are in a similar situation - where capital costs are huge and can only be paid for out of large profits.

If I hear the phrase "Shovel Ready" one more time I will ask them to put the shovel somewhere dark.

As far as I can tell from the correspondence from the company over that year or two, there does not appear to be a plan B. If, for example, they had made the market aware that in the event of no sale, the company would proceed to build a mine, either by raising cash, or in partnership, I feel we would have had a better chance of agreeing a price before now.

Agree - Calibre are "fully focused" on their new acquisition and mine build in Newfoundland. I struggled to get any hint of the funds raised being used as anything other than a safety shield for unexpected costs - but he didn't say it was going to be needed entirely for that either. They would have some cash available and of course they are on a roll with their share price at the moment, even with 10% dilution for the fund raise, so I would say the door is open.
