Pretty sure they'll (ongoing RR aerospace partners) will be looking at the potential of sructual batteries and integrating battery systems into structural components/composites. But you guys are right that fundamental step change is required with weight distribution or battery innovation. Dont forget aswell RR through Tempest are looking at more power dense composites for the new jet and working out of the National Composites Centre Bristol...interestingly enough...BT/Toshiba just installed our first Quantum secure fibre connection betwen the NCC and the Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS)....

The plan did allocate £525 million for nuclear reactors much smaller than today’s, which a Rolls Royce-led consortium has been lobbying for support to build.

I hadn't appreciated either that earlier in the year RR were awarded a four-year full-service engineering design framework contract by the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) IE. Tokamak Fusion Reactors.
Keeping my eye over here - right now it's at an ATH but my gaze has shifted to the market opportunity here given the nascent yet well established market for Dilution Refrigeration. Also note pretty sure that OXIG still have some equity in Tokamak Energy and vv close relationships with them. Poised nicely in terms of Fusion Tech...onto the LT watch list for me.

Rolls-Royce has announced a $13.9million investment in its Power Systems business unit for the addition of a new research and development building and multi-phase expansion of its MTU power generation manufacturing facility in Mankato, Minnesota, USA. The project is a result of growth in the market – 2019 was a record year for the Mankato facility – and demand for increased product offerings resulting in the need for updated facilities, equipment and processes to safely handle customer requirements. It is also part of the ongoing journey of Power Systems towards the development of sustainable solutions.
