Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
He wasn't ending a long and distinguished career, he was in his early thirties.
It was an awful situation, living from hotel to hotel, on tournament winnings and at the same time supporting his mother.
Kat you are wrong headed about Russia, the majority want rid of Putin.
It's you that has been taken in.
I was an international chess player and know some of the top Russian masters.
One in particular can never return as he would have no freedom.
He is a world class Grandmaster, but would be made to teach the young and give up his love of playing.
Russian scientist's and doctor's where leaving before the war, the brain drain is and will cripple Russia for generations.
Kat I have just realised something.
You have never been to Russia.
Before the war, it was a poor country.
Yes they are selling their oil and gas, but once the masses move away from oil and gas, it cannot survive in a world that wont trade with them.
The Russian politicians understand this.
Kat you talk rubbish, donating Russian seized assets to the Ukraine, won't affect finance at all.
In fact it may well make China think twice about attacking Taiwan.
Jezzoo I have always supported Brexit.
Amongst my friends I predicted it almost 25 year's earlier.
I always said a single currency that was across many diverse economys would be a disaster.
Some would profit some would lose.
Plus you could never take decisions that were best for the individual nation, if you were always basing those decisions on what a third party told you what you could and couldn't do.
We won't be the only nation to leave.
Germany and the Netherlands will follow.
It won't be Italy or Greece, because their debt level is too high and an independent currency would always be linked to the Euro for debt repayment purposes.
Eloro we have lots of trade deals.
Even with the USA.
Just not a complete trade deal.
Also before Brexit the USA was the country we did most trade with.
We gave tens of billions of pounds to the EU, any in return they restricted our trade with the rest of the world.
Costs are rising faster in the EU as extra regulations means more difficult to trade.
All protectionism eventually comes to an end.
Just as the EU will one day die.
Remember it took over forty years to destroy our trading position with the rest of the world.
We have been out of the EU for less than ten years.
We gave up a trade deal with 2.4 billion people to enter one with 0.5 billion people.
Remember we traded with the commonwealth.
No Slug you were not thrown off this site because your views didn't align with the left.
You were thrown off this site for Rac.ism, hatred of women and extreme far right propaganda that incited violence.
This is why you are the most unintelligent poster on here.
You don't even know why you have been thrown off many times.
Again Slug you don't understand what you read
I never said the world doesn't make sense.
I said it doesn't make sense to you, because your beliefs are false.
You are the problem not the world.
This is my last post on this subject as people on here want to talk about Solgold.
Slug it must be awful being you.
The world make's no sense to you.
You have conspiracy theories about all aspects of life and even more mad, you think by spreading lies you can convince others.
This announcement has confirmed that Solgold is going to raise, spend and build Cascabel.
We are just awaiting the strategic review, which you said would never happen.
You also said that this latest announcement would never happen.
Why are people talking about being sold.
Doesn't anyone read.
The news we have is that Solgold are going to raise 3.2 billion.
Possibly through JV, loans backed maybe by government.
Who knows, but nobody is talking about Solgold being sold.
Same old people twisting news.
So Slug are you saying that buys and sells are not matched in auction.
Trust me that's what happens.
I just used the term balancing. To make it simple.
So you don't believe buys and sells are not matched in auction.
You are a little bit more than confused.
Slug have you forgotten the 1984/1985 miners strike.
We imported coal from south America for less than the wage bill of British miners, that's excluding the cost of extraction and transport.
How is that a viable proposition?
Slug you know I am correct.
The point I was trying to get across that it was a balancing.
The person I was speaking too wanted to understand it.
Supposing I had said that these were matched trades as buys and sells in a single transaction, I would have just complicated the situation.
You know that and I know that
I doubt DBW knows that.
Lastly today food and energy security is important for every country.
We are lucky as our environment gives us the ability to do both.
Imagine in our lifetime instead of importing electricity that we actually export it
We are making all the right decisions on renewables and France are reducing the percentage of their mix on nuclear.
I know that in 2022 that they are building more, but this is to replace current capacity, and reducing it at the same time.
Slug, Pbow is correct this is all part of the energy equation.
May I ask you to think about something.
Climate change is the biggest threat to humanity that has ever existed.
However also think about this.
In our lifetime, if we move to renewables, we remove our dependency on Russia and the middle east.
How do you think that would change the world?
I personally think it would change it for the better in so many ways.
I am proud to be part of that change.
ScotKio I am not bragging, according to the people on here I am one of the poorest.
I am not the font of all knowledge, I have clearly said on here many times that I have no management experience and have never run a company.
However I have a background in finance, and have spent most of my life as a technical analyst in high power computing.
I have a technical background.
That is why when people are talking about cooperate finance on here, you will find I stay quiet and listen to people like addicknt because that's his area of expertise.
Many on here pretend to be what they are.
I know that Redknight on here talks absolute nonsense.
No idea if he did what he said he did for a living.
But if he did , he was rubbish.
He doesn't even understand the basics of investment.
He doesn't know what an automatic trade is, he doesn't understand SETS. He doesn't even know what an uncrossing trade is. I could go on.
Personally I believe in being upfront and honest.
I do get why I unpopular on here.
Good luck with your investments.
ScotKio I am not rich, Okay just over acouple of million in all counting my house ISA and pension .
That's not rich.
I just cut my expenditure and increase my income by thinking about to things.
Then don't get a heat pump, get wall mounted oil filled radiators, some as low as 650 watts.
Very clean and efficient. Ok you need a larger solar setup, but again calculate it.
Also if your house is that big then the setup you get may not meet all your costs, but they will certainly cut your energy costs, with no gas and importing cheap electric between 2-5 am at under 10 pence a unit depending on where you are.
Do the maths.
Also you can power radiators with electric combi boilers, but don't know what the costs are for that, as I didn't look at that solution.
Out of curiosity Slug what are your energy costs for gas and electric per year?
