For convenience: Trading Update FY 2017 results expected to be ahead of market expectations BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LSE: BVC), a leading provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, provides the following update on trading for the year ended 31 December 2017 ahead of the publication of the Group's full year 2017 results on 5 March 2018. The Group had a very successful second half of the year with both of its divisions gaining new customers, securing new contracts and expanding into new territories. As a result, the Group expects to report revenue for the year ended 31 December 2017 significantly ahead of market expectations at approximately $106m, representing year-on-year growth of approximately 17%. During the period, as previously announced, the Group established partnerships with a number of leading telecoms and semiconductor companies such as NXP and ARM, with the respective partners offering joint solutions for NFV/SDN. Revenue growth in the Bio-Medical division was driven by stronger sales in the distribution unit, mostly based on diagnostic and molecular biology products and services." Looks good, very good: and lots of wiser heads than mine seem to agree - SP up over 8%.

Seems to me a lot of skulduggery going on, and it's concerted. Trying ever so hard. Maybe they're trying to soften it up for a takeover, or using the short brigade to push the price down so that the funds can build positions on the cheap. I don't know, I'm not up in this stuff. Meantime IQE has the funds they need for the moment, and debt is not an issue, so I don't see how it affects the company [am I an innocent?? :)] But I am SO looking forward to March!! Not only will this years figures be great, but we'll have guidance from these first 3 months. HANG ON IN THERE!

I'm a little surprised that the highly publicised and successful launch of the new generation bracket has been followed by today's fall. Never mind. I am sure this will come good. If it does it will do very well indeed. IMHO! DYOR. ATB, etc...

Following the Purchase, David's beneficial interest has increased to 70,000 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 0.08% of the Company's issued share capital." So he's more than doubled his holding. In fact, almost tripled. :))

Good point Joseph C. It was interesting that after the news came out last night it was totally unclear which way the price would move this morning. Swimming in a vacuum for the short term here. But the long term remains as ever: good solid growth in various markets, with the possibility of door blasters in more than area. Risk/reward seems to me great: as long as you have the capacity to go off and hibernate in the garden shed, as one of our punters so sensibly put it. Sometimes some knockout juice would be useful.

Yep JL, please keep soldiering on. It all helps us naive (me) and not so naive (others), all grist to the mill. The best shares have the quietest boards, it seems to me. Once it gets noticed the sp will rocket, but the board will become a pain! I don't comment much as really I'm no expert. Still, I am a pre-90 survivor. Just: bought last Feb at around 80. It's one of those shares that helps you sleep at night: great returns, but nice and steady, so you don't get all excited. :)
