Nah, always ways around things, just for interest
Savers will be able to sidestep Rachel Reeves’s cash Isa crackdown with just 1p thanks to a flaw in the policy design.
Under the reforms set to take effect next April, savers under the age of 65 will have their cash Isa limit cut to just £12,000, although they will retain their full £20,000 annual Isa allowance via a stocks and shares Isa.
The new rules would treat portfolios invested entirely in cash-like assets such as money market funds as taxable, but sources told The Telegraph that investors would be able to avoid penalties by holding just 1p of stock.
