Sir Nige, my forlorn hope is that the problem was with TO'R and not with B'Roe. Who knows! You could concoct various excuses for why it didn't get developed -- other prospects to chase, oil price collapse 2014, dodgy partners etc. but none of them completely stacks up. Why has nobody reputable been interested? Answers on the back of a $250m note please, to Providence Resources, Scruffy Offices, Poor House Lane, Sandyford, Dublin Z.

seaton, I take your point. Though I've spent that amount multiple times here myself, and I can tell you I don't know any more than the next man. Could be just people positioning themselves for possible news based on the exclusivity period we were told about. The rest of it I put down to herd mentality, as I do the price slump of the last few months. I don't believe in rational market theory, at least not for shares like this one.

£64k is what, about 300,000 shares? I don't think that explains it. There were 20m traded yesterday, 5 times the 3-month daily average.

LW, I didn't even do my own calc, just took a third of your number for 8% instead of 25%. But it doesn't really matter. We agree we're talking telephone numbers if the Barryroe potential ever gets unlocked. And that's just for the middle and lower Wealden. Could be triple that for the other strata. Wouldn't take much of a percentage of that to make me happy ;-)

Don't get me wrong -- bring it on by all means. Would make me a rich man after all the whinin' on here goaded me into buying millions of cheap shares ;-)

That was before they announced a deal giving away up to 70% of their share of Tendara for a relative pittance. Thanks may still come good ... but not *that* good without further discoveries.

If true, he's a charlatan. With the best version of the deal on the table the gas is not worth that much to SOU. They'd have to make significant extra discoveries.

So by the same token give away 90%, retaining 8% for PVR, worth ~80p/share. I'd bite both my own arms off for that.
