RE: Asset Values - Heron 12.6p, GOBI 18.9p, Total - 31.5p per Share!25 Mar 2026 13:41
Investor, agreed. Clearly, quite a few overstretched themselves on the hype around this in the explorer phase. Then, once the EL was granted, there was another wave of sentiment which overcommitted a few more. In both these phases, there were literally no metrics to judge this by, apart from the raw 821bopd figure which was probably a peak testing flow rate lasting about ten minutes. In retrospect it was reprehensible of the company to not contextualise this figure for investors. Once we became a producer, suddenly there were clear metrics to value this by, as well as a much clearer idea of costs per well etc. The stockbashers entered at this point, allied to the shenanigans by PC witholding etc, and the Mongolians basically not having a proper streamlined regulatory framework in place, all of which combined to kill the sentiment in this, keeping it a traders' share rather one to hold. I mistimed my entry at 3.2p thinking this was a brilliant price to get in considering the assets. Fortunately (or not maybe), the raise at .8p was a gift not to be ignored and allowed me to average down massively to 1.1p. Understandably, those who had previously overstretched and overcommitted were extremely wary of putting any more in to this, especially given the SP has crashed to sub 1p! In short, a perfect toxic storm for those who've held long-term who are, perhaps understandably, either very bitter (Master) and/or trying to trade it (Hamm) to try to claw a bit back. The lesson for me is just trade in the explorer/early producer phases, then buy and hold at the first signs of the company securing its long-term future, which is the inflection point we are currently astride.
