If you want to see Telfer just scroll along the road from Havieron. It's looking well worn these days!
Q
I don't know if the radar is early or not, but everything you say about it is right as far as I can see. It's a shame the cloud has stopped us having anything to compare it to.
Q
More clouds on the satellite today.
The next one is on Wednesday.
Q
I expect a new MRE with the PFS. There's not much point releasing one before. Sandeep said September for the PFS, which is only three months away.
Q
I think my awful maths has sunk me. I have looked again at that article and now I think my maths is wrong: the answers I get are in pounds or fractions of pence. Enough of it for now.
Q
Or, to put it another way, the 5p per m oz yardstick of old seems about right still.
Q
That's interesting, Zoros, thanks.
They say that their averages are based on gold only projects (no copper), but unless my awful maths has sunk me again if we use the $20 per oz average with 4.2m oz Au eq we get 20.9p.
That implies plenty if room for growth as the resource grows in certainty and size.
Exciting times!
Q
The way I got to 88p was from the valuation in the Regis / Tropicana deal, which valued the in-ground resource at $852 per oz. Converted into Sterling and the 30% for us we get something like £186 per oz. Multiply that by a million and then divide by the number of shares fully diluted and you get £0.044 per million oz. That makes 88p for 20m oz. It does also roughly correspond with where we are now with 4.2m oz Au equivalent.
As a guess I haven't seen a better one, and it's definitely better than allusions to unsubstantiated "intel" and vague sources. I don't mean to dig at those with sources - I like hearing the rumours - but they're impossible for me to substantiate while the sum above is tied to a real recent deal.
It just depends how much gold you think Havieron holds.
10m oz? 44p.
15m oz? 66p.
20m oz? 88p.
50m oz? £2.20.
Oh dear. Carried away again.
One thing we do know is that Havieron is huge and its value - which is definitely more than 22p - will eventually be recognised in the SP.
Q
Seems a reasonable finger in the wind.
Q
Earlier someone mentioned a target of 88p. I can't find the post now, but that isn't an impossible figure. If we use the figures from the Regis / Tropicana it comes out at £0.044 per reserve oz for us. 20m oz would mean 88p. 15m oz would mean 66p.
When you look at the area included in the 4.2m oz Au eq MRE and consider what's known but not included and that Havieron is still open all over the place 20m oz doesn't seem unreasonable.
This will eventually be recognised in the SP. It's just a matter of waiting - and probably not long given the speed Newcrest are going at.
What would be nice would be if Byrnecut could set a new speed record at Havieron. I wouldn't be surprised.
Q
Certainly wining.
Very enjoyable. I suppose we should really stick to GGP currant affairs though.
Normally I wish I hadn't looked to see what was going on in the green coffins but I have to say one of today's posters has given me a good laugh. If you're going to bury the useful stuff it might as well be with something funny, and his posts are fabrique Belgique, Rodney.
Q
When we get the next set of exploration results two weeks tomorrow it will be four weeks since the announcement of the commencement of underground works was made.
I wonder if they'll say how far they've dug. 300m? 10%?
Q
Sojourner spotted it first.
This is what this board is good at.
:)
Q
I've put the two images on Twitter. There's pretty definitely something there. #GGP
Q
Is the radar Sentinel 1? If it is there was a blob visible on the southern Outamind pad on the 20th.
Q
I think it'll be a long time yet. Months, probably.
Q
Yes, I had seen that one.
I usually look at it on a smartphone, which isn't ideal. Every few weeks I have a look at it on a giant wall screen at work - which is much easier.
I wonder how long it'll be before we get some results from Goliath and Outamind.
Q
That's why I describe the things I can see in terms of the camps and roads.
