Signing of the contract between GA Puławy and Mkango,
According to Grupa Azoty, an important step has been taken in the construction of a rare earth element separation unit in Puławy. Grupa Azoty Puławy has signed a land lease agreement with Mkango Polska (a subsidiary of Mkango Resources Ltd.) for the construction of a strategic rare earth separation installation in Puławy.
It turns out that the contract concerns a plot of 8 hectares, adjacent to the fertilizer and chemical complex of Grupa Azoty Puławy, which provides infrastructure, access to reagents, utilities and covers a large area for future development. As added in the press release, the location in the Special Economic Zone provides very good access to European and international markets.
Construction of a rare earth element separation installation in Puławy
"The plant's production will strengthen the security of supply in Europe of rare earths used in hybrid electric vehicles, wind turbines and other green technologies and strategic applications, and is in line with European initiatives to create more robust, diversified supply chains under the latest European Union regulations on critical raw materials," the company's press release reads.
"We are satisfied with the signing of the exclusive lease agreement for the land adjacent to Grupa Azoty Puławy. We highly value the close cooperation with Grupa Azoty and look forward to completing the final feasibility study of the rare earth separation plant and commencing construction," said Alexander Lemon, CEO of Mkango.
The head of Puławy also commented on the matter.

Partnerships are in our orbit of interest, and they are part of the Azoty Business Programme. We have many arguments to offer, m.in media, specific raw materials, soil, as well as engineering potential, which is why we support all such business initiatives," said Hubert Kamola, President of Grupa Azoty Puławy, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
