I think that there wont be any extension provided to the Rajasthan govt as they are clearly in breach of the law as it stands. So best thing would be to arrive at some sort of agreement.

For the simple fact that this inward investment in India followed the bi- lateral negotiations between India and Australia some years ago and this hastle by the Rajasthan govt, which received the powers delegated down from the Indian govt to deal with the mining licenses both within the spirit and letter of the law are not doing so which will bring the Indian govt into disrepute.

This will also be the lead case for other mining companies which may be deciding to follow.

I think these will be heard first so expecting announcement (positive) by say our time 8.30.

The mere fact that Mr Bolton replied to your note speaks volumes. The only other CEO who regularly replied to emails was the former CEO of OMI.

Agree with Imac the Board will not discuss such matters via emails. However, I feel that they must be confident bearing in mind the company has taken every step necessary to fulfil the conditions of the the state govt as is evident from previous RNSs.

If I recall the terms of engagement Omi has with Newmont, was't it the case that if there were new shares issued to any party other than Newmont then Newmont will also acquire to maintain their original status quo?
