It is quite normal for a mineral processing plant to store any off-specification material and bleed this back in to the plant on a controlled basis for reprocessing. PG

The two are utterly separate concentrates and the definition of which is perfectly clear to anyone not pedling a specific narrative. What's Wolf going to do with the 1,000 bags of below spec material " Simple really, it will be reprocessed to achieve grade and then sold. “In March the pre-dryer in the refinery was down for five days whilst its main bearing was removed, repaired and replaced, during which time production of final product was curtailed. Intermediary material (pre-concentrate) was stock-piled during this period and will be used to supplement production over the coming months” (28th April RNS). PG

WD43: The "soft" nature of the surface ore means that the tungsten and tin mineralisation (along with the gangue matrix) becomes overground in the process plant; i.e. ends up at a finer particle size than required (intended) for mineral liberation and efficient recovery with the available equipment. Ultrafine (slimes) particles also have to be removed from a gravity processing circuit as they have a detrimental effect upon the subsequent separation; hence these particles are removed by classification equipment and rejected to the tailings dam without further processing. So its a double (ngative) hit. All gravity concentrators separate minerals as a function of mass (particle size and specific gravity) which means that for any particular design of gravity separator their is an optimum particle size range that should be fed to that device. A narrow size range being preferable for a high separation efficiency. Put simply, the equipment at Drakelands is being fed with minerals that are currently outside (too fine) the optimum size range for recovery or the fines are bypassing the gravity units in order to maintain efficiency; either way recovery suffers. This is why moving to the harder, deeper, ore is so important for the sustainable operations. PG
