Blimey, IAG doing pretty good today. Our 2000 friend has been out with their Peter Kay double spade. 174 seems good considering we were ~180 just before America's Russian invasion plans were reported.

As for gold+platinum , the Wedding season will be upon us shortly and many will be making up for lost years. Electricals for all those leccy cars as manufacturers hedge etc. Looks like a good year for holders. Then again how much of the price is derived from synthetic trading. The real price may be a lot more at this time.

I remember some 'scary' news coming out of the same paper on Premier oil/ Harbour at a important juncture. My theory is that these stories and their ilk are produced to order for reasons not difficult to ascertain.
Then again, its an easy kind or article to write: A goliath and David- mix in a current/ potential future polico economic background and find a new -ish law/ regulation or opinion. A quote (often out of context) from senior politician/ regulator and their you go. Rick Stein couldn't do a better dish.

Looking stable now and even beginning a slow creep upwards. Who knows, maybe another accumulation phase for out II friends.

Wow I bet a lot of folks didn't expect such a rise and got burnt this morning.

As for int rates, it's interesting to note many banks have been raising their savings rates since last year at least. 5 yr fixed cash bonds are now over 1,6 for 2 yrs when you'd be hard pressed to find that for a five year not so long ago.
As for for negative rates. The Swiss, Japanese and Danish tried it. EU considered it. We hear nothing of it nowadays. One to watch though GLA

Didn't expect blue today. a lot of folks probably shorted euro indices this morning and came a Roy Cropper.
That's why I steer myself back to ftse shares nowadays- that's where the action is. Last Aim share- Baron oil. My account was pretty barren after that excursion a few years ago. (Blimey- 6 trades so far today). Hurricane Energy, them Harbour (then Premier oil) Penny shares- yup, my account always ended up in pennies after a good pasting. Live and learn.
