Gold price Just broken through $1900/oz

GJGB (GDXJ) as additional leverage on the producers severely oversold as a sector which should leverage even further any swings in gold price to the upside.

That was an almost perfect example of a 'bear trap' down at 6.8p followed quickly by a rapid price reversal.

I had started to pull a list together of potential gold recovery plays and HUM was on my list.

As you say it was bear trap territory at 6.8p when I said I was looking to get back in.

I might do some more work over the weekend on some other opportunities with a similar risk vs reward scenario

You're spot on in your earlier comments re the dollar strength and interest rates

We are still to see the effect of what will happen when both roll over.

In a nutshell, their CEO Dan Betts came out to the market yesterday to discuss all the pointe I mentioned and the market liked it.

Just noticed your post over on Hum.

Been looking at this over the weekend as looking to get back in at some stage.

Q3 results will be pivotal

There is a chap on YouTube with a channel called 'Biztech' who covers a lot of the punters favourite stocks.. KOD, PREM, COPL etc and I watched his video on HUM which was pretty balanced.

I think there is still some fear around the stock due to the delays getting the new mine up and running where timescales have clearly slipped.

It might take a bit longer but if they can get up to 200,000oz and gold price back over 2000oz with an AISC of 1500oz the SP would be way higher.

Feels like there are some delays and therefore they may miss their annual production guidance figures which is probably why this has sold off

As long as its just a delay, could be a decent medium term play.

What it doesn't need is if they have had any more complications and had to increase the debt. Albeit Coris bank are extremely supportive and their owner apparently holds a 12% stake in HUM

I posted previously on here why the SP had fallen and what needed to be addressed... Will dig it out and repost it.

Dai, it s a full replication fund of which the underlying value of the weighted assets is well into the billions.

It's bigger brother is the GDX.

You can buys/sell £100K'S easily and make no impact on how the price is marked to market.

Dia, thats not how it works.

It's a ETF of Junior Gold miners.

GJGB is also a secondary listing of the US fund.

The fund value will rise and fall with the value of the basket of equities which it holds within the sector which is also periodically re balanced to ensure the funds investment criteria is maintained.

Good example of a very small free float.

As I said yesterday these get targeted as only a small % of the total shares in issue can be traded resulting in big swings in the SP.

Another pumpers favourite before it was suspended was Mustang energy

Speaking of former professions

Richard Corsie MBE (the international bowls player) owns about 10% of Mustang.

Can't take credit for the post over there as it purely a take on the technical indicators copied from Kitco.

That said, I had mentioned this trade a few weeks back in that I would be re buying both Gold and the junior index in October and started on Friday and trade is in play and looks OK so far.

Yep, they have the Mcap as at yesterday's close.

Now.£11.25m m/cap

Only 277m shares outstanding

Low free float of 140m

Basically half of the company is tightly held.

There are some aim Co's that are 60% and even seen some up to 70% tightly held.

Often this means that liquidity is poor, so you won't be able to get in (or out) with size, but they can really shift when volume comes in as the MM's keep taking the SP higher looking for sellers.

Pump and dump types have a tip sheet of all these shares tucked away and know the ones that can move fast.

More often than not they have really wide spreads when the volume disappears (locking holders in)

But if there is a raft of buying activity the MM's will bring the spread right in, but caveat emptor couldn't apply more to these shares as they can and will push it back out in a flash.

Mean reversion back to year highs prior to the fall.

Also.

Map only 11.25m and fairly low free float so moves fast (both ways) on any meaningful buying or selling activity.

Also

Been a pampers favourite with many previous spikes and falls due ro a combination of the above factors.

Also.... yes, update was 100% overhyped but the herd seemed happy enough to go with it..... for now.

Wouldn't want to be on the top of that spike when the sellers kick in.

GJGB is the London listed one

GDXJ is the US listed one.

II think if purchasing from within a UK based SIPP or ISA then some would be restricted to buying the GJGB

Whereas if purchasing through a 401k or a Roth IRA it would be the GDXJ

Probably do what you want via a GIA depending on your providor, but usually need to sign the US stocks declaration with your provider for US stocks/ETF but you may have probably already done this for when buying something else US based.

RNS today confirmed RAB capital have fully sold out of KEFI

I shouted up previously that when they last sold a tranche of KEFI that I wondered if it was to fund a placing over at BRES, and that turned out to be the case.

I wonder If BRES maybe looking to raise again in Q4?

Been watching lots of junior gold producers that look oversold and beaten down as discussed earlier.

Hard to pick all the winners from the losers so will be looking to scale into the GDXJ / GJGB as it bounces around the lows same as last October.

Really thinly traded over the past week apart from last Tuesday when a couple of £1m+ sells went through.

I wonder if this was NH selling some or start of forward selling.

I reckon it needs an update on when next funding from RICCA is coming.

I see a few poster musing over the possibility that it might not be coming anytime soon?
