That article you have posted is probably spot on re spending and most of this stuff now back to covid lows or worse which seems bizarre as the world was shut down at that point. Markets seem to be pricing a hardcore recession, sterling is getting destroyed ( as usual since brexit ) and property market looks like next to crater even with still too low rates, so I guess expensive tonic not top of the buy list. uk heading for full on recession, brexit fiasco coming home to roost, dreadful government, parabolic taxes and inflation, rising interest rates and sterling has been decimated….sucking in more inflation ( oil priced in USD ) property market is going same way as 08, hence builders shares getting destroyed, theses will be back to .18p, guaranteed.

Dividend will be heavily cut, hence market pricing, value of aum will fall so inevitable, back in sub 4.50 for next bounce altho everything in U.K. looking like going same way as 08 including property market.

Nothing will do any good until inflation starts dropping away. UK is pretty terminal unfortunately, brexit a disaster which has left huge holes in employment numbers now really starting to bite and the general ongoing mess and fat idiot boris we seem perma lumbered with, parabolic taxes and just generally a pretty shxt economy. Aberdeen still have net assets walking out the door, thats the problem, its a shrinking business and nobody bothers with managed funds anymore they are crxp, everyone just uses low cost ETF’s. And with the fall in asian markets next set of results could be poor, standard sunk themselves when they hooked up with Abrdn, they have pretty much halved, mind you the whole ftse pretty much at covid lows, shocking. If they cut the dividend these are sub 1.40. L&G a much better bet and on sale.

Terminal rubbish even by dog index ftse 100 standards, Read didn’t take action soon enough and it’s very expensive having wrong ceo or not replacing a bad one quickly enough. Reality is U.K. listed telecoms are in terminal decline, there is no money in it and hasn’t been for over a decade, it’s a dividend stock and we all know what happens to those, you buy for a 6 per cent divi then lose half your capital.

Took a loss and sold, moved the money into now cheap tech and growth. Abrdn looks terminal, money still walking out of the door and investing is all low cost passive these days. Another dividend but capital destructive U.K. share.

Boohoo is a good company, all growth companies are getting hammered and all companies exposed to inflation are getting clobbered so its a toxic combo, pretty soon economies will flatline, they are already, rates will be cut, juicing will restart and supply chains will ease, when they do this and asos will come roaring back. It’s a lean, clever business.

Results are likely to be terrible, see this going to about 1.09, it’s a company in terminal decline, it’s poorly managed and CEO will be replaced but the trouble is the business model is shot to pieces, there’s no money in telecoms anymore, European telecoms have not been wrecked like U.K. ones ( BT/Vod ) but they aren’t great either, theres no money in it anymore, not much point buying dividend stocks to get 6 per cent but lose half your capital every three years. Having said that, the whole ftse 100 is pretty much dross, or as it was described, Jurassic Park. Even the UK oil companies trade at 30 pc discount to Euro and US oil, ( brexit, the gift that keeps on giving ).

Another dog of the index, has lost 30 pc of its value over 5 years, with dividends its about square and if you take inflation into ac its lost about 25pc in real terms as there is zero capital growth. This dividend shxt is all the same, people buy it for yield then lose half their capital. It why they call the U.K. indexes Jurassic park. Dump it, its another abrdn or Vod.
