egomonkey- Your logic is flawed and your comment that ''You say drawing general comparisons is of little use, then you do exactly that'' is untrue as you well know.
I suggest you read my post to GMCC and read some of the articles and research for yourself, instead of being lazy and throwing criticisms at me without doing your homework.
We know, because ''Glyn said so'' - who is he, the Messiah, how naive are you - pharma's are in talks with one another all the time, its the nature of the industry.
Perhaps you should ask why, if Summ is in talks of substance with several potential partners why the share price is half what is was 3 years ago - fair question - eh?
The exercise price for the share options are all out of money by a distance and major shareholders voted down the remuneration policy which is most unusual. Perhaps this is what shareholders should be questioning rather than relying on ''Glyn said so''.
Arrowhead Pharma, another one of JM's top picks are another ''Glyn said so'', only in that case it was a Vince Anzalone who said so, until it crashed and lost 95% of its value.
Every CEO of very Pharma believes he has the next magic treatment, that's the nature of the sector - one slight showing of doubt and the sp gets killed and funding dries up. Its a tricky balancing act.
I have not framed it as a disaster story at all, although some might on the back of the woeful share price performance. C-Diff is going to be difficult, speak to anyone in the industry, there is little or no interest currently being shown by Big-Pharma. Most ended their antibiotic programs some time ago.
DMD - we can just wait and hope for stellar P2 read outs, but one would be naive to ignore the obvious risks attached to any DMD drug. Billions have been spent and many have come and gone. Its a huge challenge.
