RE: Today's the day...27 Oct 2020 17:27
From a document issued today by the KU Investigation, despsite what was kindly posted below. (I've translated the Swedish with the exception of the bits which outlines the areas of responsibility for each department). It's being interpreted by the Swedish on FB that the matter will be referred to UNESCO. I don't see it like that, as I understood that UNESCO had already had some input? It would be good for KB to seek instant clarity on this in my opinion.
"The constitutional committee has requested access to documents submitted to the case N2017 / 04553 / FOF since the committee received the file in November 2019.
The documents that have been registered in the lease after 8 November 2019 are attached, see appendix.
In addition, answers to the constitutional committee's supplementary questions in the heading case are left.
1. In response to memoranda on 9 January 2020 and 6 February 2020, in response to the committee's questions, it was reported which preparation measures had then been taken in the matter. What additional preparation measures have been taken in leases since then?
2. Has a new assessment been made within the Government Offices of which additional preparation measures may need to be taken?
3. In response to the memoranda on 6 February 2020, it is stated that the preparation of the case has not been completed. With which other ministries is the matter prepared and in what way does the matter fall within this or these ministerial areas of activity (cf. the Ordinance [1996: 1515] with instructions for the Government Offices?)
The current case is very extensive and complicated. During the preparation of the lease, a unilateral analysis and various observations have been made. This has resulted in a position that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) should be given the opportunity to assess whether the activities in question have an impact on the world heritage of Laponia. As a smile in the preparations for such a referral, the in-depth impact assessment that Jokkmokk Iron Mines ABB has given into the lease has been translated into English.
Government matters that fall within the areas of activity of several ministries must be prepared in consultation with other government departments. This also applies when a lease is more dependent on a government line within the same ministry. According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry's assessment, the Council of State and the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Culture are dependent on the matter."
The rest of the report is copies of emails sent by KB to various government departments. Their responses are appalling quite frankly... I had to laugh at the reference to paternity leave... Of all the excuses
