I disagree. Had a bout of Spanish flu recently? It will disappear at some point, but that can be process will be much faster if the transmission chains are broken by finding and isolating cases - isolation is the reason SARS and MERS didn’t cause a pandemic. In those cases it was possible due to the nature of those viruses, Covid is a particularly nasty and pesky virus as it spreads so easily. The answer is test, test, test.

The recent surges in new cases is now filtering through to the deaths counts and they’re rising once more. Test, test, test, we need to reduce the transmission rate and that is only possibly by identifying and isolating those infected.

Awacta’s market is global. The number of cases is growing and it is not due to an increase in testing. Testing globally is still woefully inadequate and it’s also decoupled from the actual spread of the virus. The virus spreads whether you’re measuring it or not. Just remember, Trump recently used this argument and was mocked and ridiculed the world over. We can put TW in the same camp as Trump, but we knew that anyway.

Suggesting that Covid is declining as the time between each millions cases becomes shorter is the weakest possible argument, this is excellent news. Those trying to knock Awacta are running of out arguments, all they have left is the nonsense that it’s disappearing and that the test isn’t ready yet. It’s being optimised right now and demand will hugely outstrip supply, we won’t be able to manufacture enough which is a great position to be in.

Why expect news on Tuesday? There’s deramping right there in building unnecessary anticipation. We’ve had an LFT update. There could be news any day about a range of things, but I’d be patient on the LFT, it’s currently being optimised - as CO said, possibly at two levels for two separate tests, well worth the wait!

Nice one FM, thanks, we finally have the targets in black and white. Obviously Awacta have been aware for some time. As O&W has said, we need PHE/govt to support us to get the samples and get this approved, but I’m sure we will as this has to be their priority. As found in the document about India yesterday, in a previous document about the states, rapid antigen tests are now the number one focus. The statisticians have had their fun with antibody tests. Now is Awacta’s time.

The rate of growth is still increasing, we’re not at the global peak and this is only the first wave, scary stuff.

The govt are unlocking the economy because they have to, the economic pressure to do so currently outweighs the risks. They’re hoping, and guessing even, that the guidelines will keep the r value down and they’ll adjust as necessary.

For hotels, they won’t be testing after every room, Covid has an incubation period. They might test staff daily and insist on guests taking a test - incorporating the test cost in the price. Still a very large opportunity.

Ha! That’s an understatement... Yes, it’s unfortunate, but there are some vile characters over there with an agenda and enough of them in their telegram group to try and enforce it. I’m not one for backing down. It’s a public BB and I firmly believe balance and debate is healthy, constant cheerleading is not. Their motivations are painfully clear and I feel sorry for anyone that falls for it. It’s certainly been an odd couple of days, despite posting about the huge potential, apparently I’m in a boiler room, hilarious!
