I can't believe that we're not absolutely swimming in money if, over 6 months, we've sold 6-7m tonnes of coal at an average price of (possibly well) over $150 and FOB cost of €56, which I make a profit of $600m+ (= first divi of ~£1.35/share).

Cleverer people than I have done the same sums and come up with a completely different answer, otherwise the share price would be well north of here, well north of the £5 it briefly almost hit in September.

So I'm assuming there must be something very nasty in Monday's wood pile, unless the market is missing something that is blindingly obvious to me, which seems unlikely.

We'll see.

Added another 5% to my holding at £2.24. Wasn't planning on adding any more as already quite overweight, but seemed too low not to nibble a few more. Takes my average up to almost £1.

Another ~4.5m shares bought back in November, mostly around the £27-28 mark. Must be about half way through that first $1b of buybacks, and mostly at the current relatively soft price. Will do no harm at all to next year's eps.

Well, Morgan Stanley has revised its target for Renishaw down from £58 to £44, but I doubt that's likely to have caused all (or even any) of today's 5% fall.

FY 21 very strong, beating consensus on eps and revenue, with guidance also up for Q1 of 22. 13% up yoy for Personal Systems, at $11.8b. Aggressive sharbuybacks reached 8% of marcap in the last 6 months, with a further $4b pending.

Market likes the figures, up 10% today, and rising. Over 50% up yoy, and still paying 3% divi. Very nice.

That's a chunky fall, far worse than the market. Just Brent crude fall?

Eps for third quarter of $2.18 is remarkable if it's sustainable. Sorry I didn't pitch all my Pru into these, rather than just half.

Over shot expectations - fy revenue now expected to be $7.7b, eps p to $4.29. Shares rose 3% to new all time high of $217.77

Nice 4% rise today, partly on news that up to 4b covid vaccines could be made next year (current projections 1.7b).

Today's rise is 4x greater than Thursday's xd fall will be.

Thungela is still selling coal. It still costs Thungela about £40 (say $56)/ton to produce coal and get it on a ship. Anything else is profit.

There were stonking profits in the iterims to June when coal was around heading up to $130. Anything over $60-$70 a ton and we're making money. Anything over $100 and we're creaming it - especially those of us who bought in at mostly under £2 a share. Enjoy the ride.

@tedmack take no notice of Gertfrobe s/he is a bitter former Sirius investor who didn't have the sense to jump to AAL at the take-over and now tries desperately to find anything that makes Anglo look bad. Those of us who did have the sense to jump have made up their Sirius losses and then some (and then a lot if, like you and me, they dived into TGA as well).

Well, it was "in the sights" of Warren Buffett, worth 100 of little Peltz, and we saw him off, no sweat.

Double digit sales growth in all regions, including over 20% in Western Europe. Net debt down over 30% to £1.6b, revenue £2.2b. 8% up today, the market liks the figures. Perhaps we've finally broken the tenner barrier properly.

No he bloody didn't. That's the whole point about King Canute (sic, recte ****): he knew he couldn't stop the tide, and made the point very graphically when his moronic flatterers told him he could.

Nice divi as well. Lot of cash in the bank, wonder what they're planning to do with it? And I still don't understand why the delay presenting the figures: was it auditors' incompetence (my bet) or Renishaw's?

Also they (/we) still own 20% of TGA so still have a significant, if greatly reduced, interest in it.

Slightly disappointed in these: noticeably underperformed the market this year, even if up 6% on my purchase. Still happy to hold for the decent divi and prospects of capital growth.

Perfectly respectable return, bought at just over £14 in March last year, roughly 66% up not counting divis. Still holding, may even add a few if incoming divis are available.
