Glib: Trade War20 Jun 2018 12:57
It's a tough one. Trump could be on a sticky Wicket if he's not careful. He will further isolate the US from the rest of the world and imposing Trade Tariff's may hinder the US Economy rather the help it? If that happens, Trader's will seek better deals elsewhere, so I think it could help us. However, Trump said a while ago that we will be having better trading relations between the US and the UK which still remains to be seen. It wasn't so long ago, that he said we'd be at the 'End of the Queue' when it came to business. We all know the Yanks say End of the Line, clearly written buy someone form the UK as 'propaganda'!
We do NEED to trade freely all over the World and as far as the UK as whole is concerned, we'll need all the business we can get, Tariff's or not. If these are imposed from the US AND These obstructive blighter's in the EU, it will affect consumer and business confidence which could lead us into a spiralling recession with no easy way out. I think the EU bod's want to 'break' the UK in spite for Brexit, but what good would it do. They want to sell us cars, Wines and a host of other things, so they would be cutting off their Noses to spite their faces. Plus the effect will work BOTH ways, so tariff's from all sides is most certainly the wrong thing to do. It will just add further malaise to our already ropey share price.
High Tariffs and trade embargo's is NOT the way to do good business especially if Trump wants to sell more of their own products. After all, who want's Blossom Hill Wine anyway. The Yanks could never make a decent Wine. Trump is Blinkered and needs to look at the longer term picture. Don't bank on North Korea for bringing Business in to the US. Kim Jon Un could close the door at any time, and so far he's made a well calculated mockery of the US by playing them like a fruit machine from the start. Kim Jon know's exactly what he's doing.
MX Oil could be largely unaffected unless a Recession happens?
