Totally off-topic but hey, it’s the weekend.

What are your greatest investing escapes? Mine is the following…..

My neighbour is watching Kelly’s Heroes which made me think about classic war films, I obviously got to the Great Escape. That thought created the tenuous link to yesteryear and a company that I was invested in, Encore oil. Please forgive me if your memory has a better recollection of the facts rather than as I remember them shown below.

If I remember correctly EO. was a junior partner to Premier Oil and another, in a six well exploration programme in the NS.

I got in at 15p (?). The first five wells all struck oil and I rode the rise, trading all the way up to around £1.45. I made a tidy £10K in the process. The last well was on the go and I had the whole £10k on the table. The last well….the last bloody well hit a duster.

The SP plummeted to about 45p. I still had some profit but the £10k was decimated. As they had 5 successful wells myself and Mrs Photo decided to go for broke, we bought more. It took our average to around 86p.

Almost immediately, was it even the next day? a larger company bought EO., it might have been PMO? The buy out price was about 88p!! We sold and regained our £10k plus about £16 profit!!

As I say, I can’t remember the exact amounts but the above is as close as it is going to get.

That folks was my greatest investing escape!!

I totally agree with you, there is loads more upside to come from this beauty.

I still smile and my good fortune for accidentally buying TXP the second time way back at the beginning. How was that for good luck!!

I heard the Tsunami wall of cash was being verbally rerated to a 'solar flare from the sun wall of cash' as that is how big 'they' expect the Chinook, Cas, Coho-1 and Cas Deep combined flares to be......What a year!!

The current SP movement is not something that worries me. In March we were trading between 21p and 25p whilst we waited for news. Trust in PB and the the Mighty TXP!!

Simon, looks like Tuesday for the long awaited return of Mrs Photo and our kids!! Just over five months.

OGM4, in the current global climate I think that the orders will arrive thick and fast. Another NCYT meteoric share price rise possibly? Time will tell.....

Delgarno, I topped up on the back of that interview. This has such potential I feel. 100% on test results. I just keep thinking of a few tasty orders from around the world and who knows where this can go?

I have to say that I think that is just about one of the best CEO interviews I have seen.

Funny how things work out. I am sitting on an average of 20p and thought about averaging down at 11p. If I had gone through with that plan, at around 14.5p I would have been blue and would have sold. I didn't average down and I am so glad I didn't.

If this rises 100% (currently) on test results, imagine what will happen when SYM starts selling to the world..... NCYT had that run of orders a while back and they hit £5. Could we be so fortunate?

The rig is hopefully moving wednesday and Chinook could be spud by the end of July. Results by the first week or thereabouts of September. Say the 10th to be safe.

I don't know about getting Mrs Photo back from South Africa? I might just buy South Africa at this rate and move there!! Go on the Mighty TXP!!

Honestly Gamflin, I don't have a clue? I just picked the 1TCF figure about 2 months ago when we were all guessing what the reserves would be. I picked it out of the air to be fair. Nobody else had picked that number so I did. My investing skills don't stretch to the level of even coming close to answering your question I'm afraid. I'm a lucky investor who just goes along for the ride. No real knowledge on the technicals.
