Spectacularly weird SP action12 Apr 2019 14:55
since the placing. Rockets on day of placing to 87p as a wave of pent up demand from investors keen to buy back in, add to their positions or thankful to get in after missing the boat, yet slowly it dribbles back and now sits under the placing price. Given how appealing the assets are, the fact the placing is less than 10% of the market cap and the tiny discount the placing was executed at I find it rather bizzare. The drill campaign looks very likely to be successful and now with more bites at the cherry investors will be even less keen to derisk. With three months or more until TD on the first well I'm perplexed as to why anyone is selling below 80p.
The fact the shares were taken up by sticky hands means there is no need to spike the SP to flip the placing shares. Perhaps this stagnation has puzzled a few into selling whereas it is actually a sign of investor strength. Also the MMs certainly seem to be keeping the SP much more steady since the placing and the increase in NMS to 10K shares.
I'm sure a few shares are still changing hands from the placing, but I will be staggered if this doesn't work though in a week or two before we see a sudden and very sharp rise. Only 7 weeks to rig mobilization so there must be plenty who want in for what's in store. GLA
