I reckon Pipe's post was delayed it's happened to me before now
Isn't global warming due to the fact we are still emerging from the last ice age?
Wonder what will happen when the current King Canutes realise this?
If I remember correctly there is a company called Falcon who have been working on it for some years and have a well off ? South America that is planning to sequester in the near future.
The pandemic will be over (for the UK) before a vaccination programme for Coivid 19 could be completed. Cases and deaths falling to very small numbers is far more likely to trigger a
return to conventional behaviour. I expect that to be 2 to 3 weeks from now.
A couple of things to add to the mix are:
1. The effect of staycation this year as the money usually spent overseas will be spent in the UK
2. The return to a full sports calendar should benefit beer sales.
An upbeat update would also help.
I've made 2 more recent buys. Unbelievable that by doing so it's bringing my average price paid down . Reducing the amount you are down feels just as good as being up for some freaky reason.
Top end of spread sure to up soon isn't it?
As previously reported by others buys are being reported as sells for this share, bought 5K 's worth early morning and note it's recorded as a sell.
Still unaware as to why distortion of the market like this is allowed.
Hi Viticoltor, very different indeed, however my premis is correct, as long as they hold the shares it is very much in their interest that the SP goes up;this would not be the case if they received cash payment.
This at least shows they have confidence in the future of the company.
What message would it send it they formulated an incentive scheme based on cash? Doing it this way puts us all in the same boat i.e. we all benefit when the SP goes up?
Just looking to the future for a moment and a question popped into my head, what do we do when the next novel virus comes along?.
We don't know how far in the future this may be, we may not have fully recovered (financially) from CV19 , we may be hit by a virus more virulent than CV19 with potentially a greater financial impact.
Pretty soon we are going to need some serious discussion about how we deal with similar outbreaks in the future.
But what is the mortality rate in that area of Italy for those over 80 without the virus, unless we know that value the statistic can not be interpreted.
Normal annual seasonal flu is expected to be a contributing factor in 5000 to 10000 deaths per year in the UK despite a massive vaccination programme, but his happens without a global meltdown , why the difference ?
The average number of deaths per day in the UK is 1500. That will not go up significantly during this viral epidemic as many attributed to CV19 would have been included anyway due to death from other causes.
Seems heartless I know but it's true nonetheless.
Gator, just checked YTD SP movement for BP , Shell, Exxon and they are all down significantly.
Until the sentiment turns ( of both MM and PI ) I don't expect too much upside. The closer we get to first gas the the more inevitable increase in SP becomes.
Apologies for having such a simplistic view, I see no gunmen on the grassy knoll !!!!!??
Is the current SP due to a poor current view of oil and mineral sector, loads of recent bad news for Tullow, Sirius etc. It's sure to flip soon because as we all agree the fundamentals are so strong.
