Took a punt yesterday and added more at 4220p as the drop seemed over done to my simple brain, doubled my ULVR holding and sitting pretty today along with some MCCI shares to boot. Unless i am missing something? Looking at my account cant see and downside

I made it nearer 117p but we are talking fractions different. Wonder if the other interested party could come back with an increased counter offer? If not i'll make a quick buck at 116-117p....wish i'd bought more at 99.5p though, cest la vie

Drew i have to admit i was tempted with gold (IGLG was on my radar), but again its so frickin over valued. I am not a "trader", im not intelligent enough, so i "invest" where i see value, and i just don't see value in gold right now, so i'll prob sit out (and watch it spiral upwards no doubt)

PS FWIW my cash is not sitting dead, but in bonds / gilts / gilt ETFs or in savings accounts - average about 4.75% interest currently

I have to admit i top sliced a lot of my shares a while back, currently im about 50% cash! Its probably an un-advisable strategy but with USA index at all time highs im reluctant to but any USA shares, and i want more of them (when the price is right!)....i think i've got almost as much UK stock as i want right now (although may snaffle some more on any deeper drops)

RE LGEN i top sliced about 256p, and rebought at 233p, but its small fry compared to my overall basket (LGEN holding is 3.7% of my total capital)

Bit of a shame for me, i took a nibble at circa 99p, but was hoping for lower than that to fully load up. I've just sold all my rentals, and this was a perfect vehicle to act as an analog for me (minus the headaches of dealing with tenants / new laws & rules). If the sale goes through i'll make a few quid, but i would rather get invested sub 100 / 95p and just take the dividends ad infinitum. While this is elevated in SP compared to historical numbers i'll probably focus on PHP / BLND

Can't account for political turmoil. The orange one hasnt helped matters, making government debt unattractive and labours spending compounding matters (all IMO). I do believe truth will out though, and the more interest rates fall the gilt yields will eventually fall. I still hold quite a lot here (from profits cashed out in stocks) as a hedge against a possible recession, in theory if that happens interest rates will drop fast, as will yields here - and the SP will rise....in theory

Sounds fairly much like status quo to me? ROE is already >20% (unless I'm mistaken). A 1.5% buyback programme won't change much IMO, heck and some companies are doing 10% buyback and not achieving much. Still I'm happy enough, I have a fairly large holding here and I'll just keep reinvesting divi when I see good value.

Supposedly the coupons dropped a bit last night from the fall out of the US CPI figures.....quoted from one of the FTSE update news channels

"He said: The Treasury market had its worst day since the Kamikwaze Budget sparked turmoil in gilts.

"The 2yr jumped about 20bps, the most since the regional banking crisis a year ago. The 10yr yield has also risen more than 20bps since the data was released and traders have now priced out a June rate cut."

I'll be honest i misread the situation, and top sliced some of my USA ETF profits and put them in here expecting the UK interest rate to come down quicker than the US rates this year after the US CPI news. Oh well, i'll see how it plays out

Coupons have risen pretty consistently over the past year, shame this hasn't been quite as robust. Am i being stupid shouldn't the SP here be related to the coupon price i.e. inverse of interest rate expectations ....does look as though the SP here got caught up in the USA rate expectation furore, i still hope to see a UK cut fairly soon, especially if the press predictions of sub 2% inflation soon happen.

I thought they have explicitly stated 10% PBT as dividends in FY23 and 20% in FY24

Sorry folks looks like the £1000M profit before tax is potentially for the current full year, so my div calc was off, and looks like potentially ~11p div this year......i'll leave it at that as the PBT is just conjecture until the full year results.

my *** packet calcs for what they are worth:

based on full year pbt of £650m, pat of circa £520m. dividends based on 10% pat are £52m. over 750m shares = 6.9 pence per share. for 2024 assuming the £1000m pbt and 20% pat for dividend happens, thats about 22p/share.

market div expectations were roughly 2023 = 19.5p, 2024 = 24p

that's quite a drop for 2023, so could be part of the markets poor reaction, that and the lack of description of how they are paying for the aircraft.

Hi Damian, I'm not invested here but watching with curiosity.... perhaps you could enlighten us which other Asia Pacific funds are up in the past 12 months? All the ones I'm looking at are down.

Although "maybe" the seasonal aspect of cashews is mitigated by storage being easier?

Anyone any thoughts on the cashew revenue for 2021? Bearing in mind it isn't starting until sometime in Q2, also are cashews seasonal if so when is peak?

But yeah either way long term it will be a real boost to the EBIT and profit line. Once the 2nd commodity is fully developed should easily be up >12p even if they can't sort the CPO prod out.... "if" they could get the CPO prod >45kT could be 15-20p

PS 12p would see me multi bag so hopefully Lincoln on the mark and I'm conservative :-D
