My grandad always liked greys god rest his soul and even now at 94 my grandma asks are there any greys running? So I’ve 3 running for me today 14.25 MR GREY SKY 20/1 MONVIEL 33/1 ZAMBEZI FIX 33/1 GLA :)
Thanks Harry I like MMM for the County Hurdle as well I like Elliotts other one Tullybeg for the Pertemps. Tomorrow Meydan 13.55 DUBAI ICON 20/1 15.30 LAND OF LEGENDS 12/1 13.50 FARINET 6/1 KALOOKI 16/1 GLA :)
15.37 GALAHAD QUEST 14/1 BEAKSTOWN 16/1 I’ve also had a few quid on PLEASANT MAN 16/1 Triumph Hurdle similar to Pied Piper expensive flat recruit rated 95 when with Roger Charlton GLA :)
Thanks Harry I’ve gone for 14.40 TIME TO GET UP and LORD DU MESNIL 16/1 and 15.38 DASHEL DRASHER 6/1 GLA :)
Early look at the National. Alot of the unexposed Irish horses have been nibbled at in the market Nobel Yeats Mount Ida which is fair enough the one I like off 149 though is DE RASHER COUNTER 66/1. Former Hennessey winner thought he ran well off a long lay off at Newbury for most of the way on Saturday should get in off that mark and will have a low weight and I like his trainer Emma Lavelle. Not sure he's worth backing right now but if he has another run before and wins then odds could go GLA :)
My two tomorrow 15.35 I LIKE TO MOVE IT and KNAPPERS HILL 11/1 to give the Jonbon form a boost GLA :)
My 3 for today 14.25 GALLANT JOHN JO 14/1 FOXY JACKS 40/1 15.35 MY MATE MOZZIE 8/1 GLA :)
Great weekends racing Leopardstown 1.05 GRAND JURY 5/1 13.35 THE TIDE TURNS 12/1 14.10 BLUE LORD 7/4 15.15 JANADIL Sandown 14.20 LHOMME PRESSE 4/5 I've had a few quid on for the Turners Novice Chase he's nothing wrong for Venetia Williams this year and liked his Dipper win also as I want to take on Bob Olinger 8/1. 14.55 CALL ME LORD and ORBYS LEGEND 10/1 Philip Hobbs has won race 4 times in last 20 renewals.
I've also had a few quid on AHOY SENOR for the Brown Advisory's Novice Chase at Cheltenham 8/1 and Cheltenham Gold Cup 50/1. Unlikely he runs in Gold Cup but if he improves tomorrow (he runs at Wetherby at 14.30) who knows they might just roll the dice and attempt a Coneygree GLA :)
Thanks Harry. My Saturday picks 13.55 JACAMAR and TORN AND FRAYED 8/1. I've also also had a few quid on PIED PIPER 14/1 for the Triumph. He runs tomorrow at Cheltenham one ride only for Davy Russell and I think they will be trying GLA :)
The Thyestes Chase tomorrow got the 1-2 last year with Coko Beach and Run Wild Fred so lets see if we can do the same tomorrow. 15.05 CHRIS DREAM 16/1 He might by shy of top class but he is still a classy horse on his day. Go back to October 2020 and he was beaten a neck in the Grade 1 Down Royal Champion Chase and as we saw on Saturday with Royale Pagaille what topweights are capable of. I don't think the ground is going to be as heavy as it usually is at Gowran which should help him. Classier types have won this race before also like Djakadam. The other is CLASS CONTI 20/1 whose record is 23 in the race running of a 1lb lower this year. It would appear this might be his Gold Cup. Both ran in last years Grand National GLA :)
My two for tomorrow 14.35 LORD DU MESNIL 8/1 and LAKE VIEW LAD 11/1 the Rowland Meyrick 2nd and 4th. The late Trevor Hemmings won this race 4 times and had several others finish runner up GLA :)
Thanks Harry. Two for tomorrow 15.00 GRACE A VOUS ENKI and ECALIR SURF 12/1. I like that they are coming here a bit fresher then some of the others here and both trainers have won race before Nicholls 3 times. Dysart Dynamo declared Sunday and sole entry at Dublin Racing Festival is the 2 mile novice hurdle so fingers crossed GLA :)
Few Antepost punts I've had although I warn degree of caution is needed with Mullins:
Supreme Novices Hurdle - DYSART DYNAMO - 20/1 on Exchanges. Is entered in Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle on Sunday a race won by Vautour Douvan and Min and thats 2 Supreme winners and a 2nd. It would appear Mullins uses this as a Supreme prep.
Champion Hurdle - The only horse I think might be able to make a race of it with Honeysuckle is APPRECIATE IT 10/1 on Exchanges. If he lines up I think he'll be 3/1 2nd fav.
Champion Bumper - PINK IN THE PARK - 12/1 Bit of a punt but I was very impressed by her when she won last year. The form hasn't really worked out but I was so impressed. I think they are going to run her at the Dublin Racing Festival and potentially in the Mares Bumper but if she wins that who knows she might even go favourite.
Others I had a few quid on are as follows
Clarence House - FIRST FLOW 7/1 This is going to cut up as Energumene and/or Shiskin wont turn up therefore I can envisage First Flow will go off 3/1 2nd fav. Already won the race last year and Kim Bailey has confirmed he is intended runner. This is likely to be his Champion Chase whereas others will likely be looked after with Cheltenham in mind. Jurys out still on Energumene for me as I don't think he's beaten a 160+ rated horse yet.
Betfair Hurdle - ELLE EST BELLE 25/1+ Was entered in the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle this weekend at Warwick but has been withdrawn. Novices have a good record in the Betfair Hurdle and she is already a course and distance winner. We know what the Skeltons are like with Handicap Hurdles they are one of the best and whilst they've yet to win this might only be a matter of time and she might win this on the way to one of the Grade 1s at Cheltenham (she has entries for the Supreme. Ballymore and Mares Hurdle) If you can get 25/1+ on the Exchanges then worth a speculative one as I don't know the plan with her. All these races you can bet on Betfair Exchange GLA :)
14.20 SOVIET PIMPERNEL 12/1 POSEIDON 20/1 GLA :)
Thanks Harry hope you are OK after getting COVID. Tolworth tomorrow 14.25 Constitution Hill looked super impressive last time but at 2/5 no thanks. He's still very inexperienced and 9 from the last 11 winners had at least 2 runs over hurdles. With that in mind I will back MR GLASS 8/1. Both Nicholls and Henderson have won race 4 times. Ground can be very soft this time of year and stayers can win this like Fiddlerontheroof and Yorkhill GLA :)
1-2 yesterday going to take a punt on GRAND JURY 12/1. 14.10 for last years winning connections of Bob Olinger. Yard form is concern but compensated with odds. I had a few quid on BLUE LORD 12/1 for The Arkle couple of weeks so hoping he goes well in half an hours time GLA :)
Have a Happy New Year everyone. I'm going to back 2 in the 14.00 VIENNA COURT 9/1 and SIMPLY THE BETTS 12/1. Nigel Twiston Davies had won this race 4 times and both are course and distance winners GLA :)
Good winner for us both yesterday Harry Galvin just getting up you'd have to think that's put him in the picture for the Gold Cup now. Today 13.45 VANILLIER 3/1 14.20 ECHOES IN RAIN 4/1 15.05 LOSSIEMOUTH 3/1 I was quite impressed by this horse at Sandown he was eased down at the line could be a memorable week for jockey Stan Sheppard after his win in the Welsh National GLA :)
2 today 13.45 ABACADABRAS 7/1 14.20 GALVIN 9/1 GLA :)
Leopardstown 13.45 GRANGEE 7/2 14.55 ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN 25/1 EUROBOT 33/1 Chepstow 13.40 FOREVER BLESSED 5/2 14.55 HIGHLAND HUNTER and DEISE ABA 11/1 GLA :)
