Here's an interesting thought just for casual discussion sake. Given what we've been through and seen here, does anyone here reckon they could run a private company like Frontera? I mean not necessarily in the Oil sector, any sector of industry and not necessarily containing dodgy people.

After all we have all followed this along and learnt a fair bit. So my thoughts are it could in some way be a form of training giving insight into running a private company even if learning how not to do it, thoughts.

Yeah received the same Corporation Action Notice in wiping Frontera Resources (FRR) shares from my account. Not sure, but I've been messaging Halifax recently over the Final Liquidation Report, etc so possibly I made them aware of Frontera being liquidated where otherwise they might have been unaware, I kind of got that impression. In any case it's better to have this situation finally ended and Halifax wipe the shares just in case there is any future claim.

The best they got back to me on was a copy of Deloitte's 2024 Liquidation Report. That and the link to the stuff that can be seen publicly on Deloitte's website. I understand that there is a separate Final Liquidation Report from this produced in February as I understand? In any case it doesn't look like I will be seeing it and it's probably not a lot different to the 2024 Liquidation Report, probably won't be needed anyway so I won't worry about it.

Just to let others on here know Deloitte contacted me back the other day. Apparently they only send out the Final Liquidation Report to those shareholders listed on the share register. If you held shares under a nominee account as I believe is the case with the Halifax who I am with (not for much longer) then your name won't appear on the share register only Halifax will (or whichever name appears as the nominee account). So in which case you have to get the Final Liquidation Report from your Share dealer (Halifax, etc). So I was told the wrong information by Halifax it seems they were supposed to send me the Final Liquidation Report but it appears the woman who replied to my message from Halifax didn't know what she was doing it seems.

Jmolina, I had my shares in an ISA before they got booted to my standard share dealing account also. I am with the Halifax. I wrote to them about registering the Capital Loss with HMRC. The woman from the Halifax emailed back stating to use a statement that had been created by the Halifax to me in 2019 showing my shareholding in Frontera. That statement shows my share value at time of delisting not the price I had originally paid for them. I'm not sure if that is correct or if the woman from the Halifax didn't really know what she was doing 🤷

People aren't as competent as they used to be I fear.

I know that they don't exist now but they did exist and if ever a claim came forward it could all become relevant you never know.

Probably worth waiting for the Stockbroker to knock the shares of the account. Halifax apparently donate any shares in any company that's gone to a private Limited company to charity if you close your account with them while the company is still a going concern. If the shares are liquidated as they are here I assume that they remain as down as a write off on my account even if I then close the account.

No telling if a claim might amount here in the future for shareholders so probably best to keep any evidence of shareholding that you have.

I know it's a kicker Dave when a number of years ago this share was starting to look real hopeful. Bad management and dodgy people ruined it for everybody here.

My loss, original investment was just £7k so not as bad as yours but it still sucks for a share where we could have cone good.

I would say though don't dwell on this share going bad too much, it's up to you but there are other shares out there. Another penny share may come home good where this one didn't. A penny share that is just a penny or a few pennies today can go skyward tomorrow and a fortune can be had. Some blame AIM but I think it's more luck of the draw at the end of the day.

Plaster, check out the Trading 212 App on Google Play and you'll see the difference. A lot has happened since 2008. In general in the past I had found Halifax Share dealing decent enough, they didn't have the problem of the shareholding in Frontera keep disappearing like some stockbroking services did and they are still there at the moment though I expect will be taken down in due course now that Frontera are listed.

Trading 212 apparently doesn't do all shares out there as apparently they don't list ones they regard as too risky. No guarantee that money won't be lost on risky shares they list on it, or ones that become risky but it helps reduce often ridiculous risks I guess so could be helpful in that way.

After Frontera if I knew a company came under the jurisdiction of the Caymans or similar I would run from them like the plague.

Halifax got back to me today. They said that I can use my valuation statement from 5/10/2019.

At that time/time before delisting my shares had roughly doubled from the price I bought them for. Unfortunately I did not sell before delisting as it looked as though Frontera was on the up.

I am not sure if this is correct or that I would only be able with HMRC to use the price that I bought the shares for. I guess I will send it into HMRC anyway and they will reply.

Halifax said that the Final Liquidation Report from Deloitte is online so I can get it online. As far as I am aware it's confidential? For shareholders, etc.

Possibly I just got someone a bit gormless who didn't know what they were doing 🤷

i just contacted my broker, in my case halifax through email and asked if they could send me the final liquidation report from deloitte (caymans region) and and also any evidence i would need to send to hmrc to write the investment loss in frontera resources (frr) against capital gains for any possible future capital gain.

they will apparently reply to me in a few days so hopefully it will be a helpful response. in general in past posts on here posters have said that you can either write into hmrc with some sort of evidence of the financial loss from frontera resources (frr) or include it on your annual tax return. as i don't do anything annual tax return i will probably write into hmrc about it as for me it then saves the bother of filing an annual tax return about it.

i have sought professional advice on this share as i never really invested a significant enough sum to warrant the outlay on professional advice. i don't think it's a bad idea for people to seek professional advice on this share as there has been a lot of odd goings on from the nomad resigning onwards. some people here may need a shrink i guess lol.

for me i am finishing my account with halifax and have moved over to trading 212. halifax have been ok but they have introduced annual charges since i first joined many years ago and have fees for each trade that i do where trading 212 have no annual charge or fees for trading shares. i also find the halifax share dealing platform increasingly dated whereas trading 212 are more up to date and interactive.

U01by, Frontera (FRR) is now liquidated as a company meaning the company is now dissolved as in it's over, finished.

Don't know if the FRUS part of Frontera is still out there but if so apparently it will just be a dormant entity going nowhere.

So basically it's over.

SN has started up TXN Holdings in Georgia, looks similar set up to Frontera, similar website and all but it's a completely separate legal entity to Frontera and we have no shares in it. It's a private limited company.

There is potentially more news to come about TXN and the situation there, but for here it's as good as over.

I suspect that TXN might either have Frontera's old oil & gas fields or be after it. Whether they have data from Frontera who knows. That's all to find out, if we find out.

Njames, that is some good information that you recall about StarRage. I remember him, he was always trying to antagonise, trolling type of stuff I guess. I think if Starage managed to get some payout over the Nomad quitting then why can't we all get similar? It may just be a question of us asking the Nomad why they quit, they may be duty bound to tell us then we just agree on a settlement. That they agreed on a settlement with Starage means that they were in the wrong, my guess would be also that a false statement was issued or something like that, i.e they should have checked it or something/failed in their duty/process or something perhaps.

Looed, your information of disclosure about TXN in VN case could be useful. It could uncover more exactly what TXN has and that could likely tell us more of what is going on.

No B-2-0, I invested in the company a good 6 months or so before it delisted. Generally no one could buy or sell share once it delisted.

There is no anger in my posts, you misread it as that perhaps. I merely point out how things are, you really think that SN has acted in shareholders interests all along and not moreso his own? Is SN really going to do anything for us now? I can't see it. I don't and can't accuse anyone of crimes as I don't know what they are (apart from ZM of course we know what he did). However I suspect some wrong doing to us shareholders has gone on and we should keep are ears and eyes open to that.

Toatie, thanks for the tip on Avacta, any contribution like this can be potentially helpful. However, what makes you think that they are about to be taken over by a big Pharma? These types of shares can often be touted for such without such ever happening. A bit like we hoped that a big oil company would come in and buy Frontera. As it looks Avacta is not making making money so the odds of a big Pharma wanting a loss making company probably not so good.

Funny B-2-0, I remember a time a few years ago on here that you were trolling other board members here. Some even wondered why if you were invested in Frontera also. It seems now you are invested in Frontera and the outcome is not so funny for you.

I'm not out to have a go at anyone, I'm merely pointing out how things can be seen. I don't see SN doing us any favours here, in fact we sat quiet while the Nomad quit when perhaps we should have flagged that up with the FCA as my guess is that all was not right.
