AB the PCR is not set for a number of cycles
There are in the region of 100 samples in a PCR tray from vaccinated and non vaccinated people, the machine does not know.
There are cameras monitoring all the samples in real time for fluorescence
When fluorescence is detected the machine records the cycle number for that particular sample
the CDC is studying break through infection for mutation in vaccinated people and is requesting samples, all it is saying is don't forward anything greater than 28 cycles because is useless for sequencing purposes

Just to make it really clear, just for you. PCR machines can not carry out DNA sequencing

Do you actually know what DNA sequencing is
It's not part of a standard PCR test
It is when a sample is forwarded to a lab for the purpose of identifying a genetic change to monitor mutations

Just to add the T line doesn't capture affimers directly, but captures covid, some of which have attached affimers

The C line captures affimers that have passed the T line and are NOT carrying covid. So effectively the C line is synthetic covid.
So if you are negative all affimers pass T and are caught by C.
If you are positive those affimers that have picked up covid are caught up on T and affimers that have not picked up covid are caught on C
Ultimately the C line confirms affimers have travelled the distance successfully.
That's my understanding
