The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Sorry Shaun I just had to check your last 20 posts on LSE.
I’d say doing the opposite of what you predict would be far better off for your portfolio! Those are some tragic predictions but keep sticking to those charts, I’m sure one day they will match up to reality.
The only way this will hit those numbers is if oil drops again, if you can predict that could you also give me the lottery numbers for this week!
Or you could say…
What would the price be if there was no war & no recession worries! I’d say we’d be much higher without these and a lower $90 oil price!
Either way we can’t change the situation and there’s reasons for the drop! I’m certainly not bothered! There’s far worse performing stocks right now and even more important there’s far worse performing companies!
We’re making billions!
Bres why would it matter they're half the price of BP? Do you understand that some small companies have expensive shares/small Market Cap and big ones can be cheap but have a huge MCap!
Comparing the actual cost of a share is not relative in anyway to another company! All that matters is MCap! Shares in issue x cost per share.
I wouldn’t have mentioned this but I’ve seen you put it twice now..
He’s a broken record! BP have never done a buyback program like this! We reduced shares by nearly 5% last year which is as good as + 5% divi! Whether the share price shows that has many variables but it helped by 5%!
My favourite quote from zac0’s is:
‘pre pandemic levels’
What is that? We were at 460 just before covid! Not 600-700 like a few would have you believe!
We’ve also been in the 300s and mostly been in the 400s over the last 10 years! A simple look at the chart will tell you that.
He likes his divi which I understand but in that case sell out and move on. I’ve got a lot in BATS but it doesn’t excite me like the future of BP does! And they only started moving forward again when they announced the buybacks… :)
I think the 25% is even worse than it looks unless I’m working it out wrong?
10 billion profit after 40% Tax before was 6 billion! Now it will be 3.5 billion after 65% Tax+WFT
That’s a loss on profits of 41% compared to normal!
Originally I was thinking it would be 25% on the ‘extraordinary’ profit after Tax
Either way it looks like it was priced in which many of us were thinking
Charlie you just wait :) I’ll get back to you come Q2! This is a traders dream currently!
Meoryou as silly as I think this share price is at the moment it is a positive that we’ve been able to buyback so cheap.
Shares reduced by nearly 5% in the last 12 months! 20.33B to 19.4B This year will be much more!
I’m not sure which is the highest but check out BATS! In the 30-40% region I think. Huge profit percentage and similar Mcap to BP.
Luckily I bought in the low 2500 despite the world of share experts saying tobacco was dead.
Similar to all those experts in the media and the random commenters on here who were saying oil was dead not so long ago….
Sneakypete.. I think said poster also made some terrible calls! They missed the huge climb and disappeared as they were waiting for the 270 gap... One other who also made some good calls shorted BP and lost a lot.
The only real winners from the lows are people who have held on and shut out the noise! You may get lucky trading it once or twice but most have now gone as they missed the 300-400 climb.
I’ve also seen many who’ve said, ‘I’m happy with my profit but will buy in again if it drops’ For me they were just gambling for a quick 10% and it back fired.
Another frequent poster has recently gone quiet, I fear they sold out as the buybacks stopped last month and they were spooked.
The only time I’ve been slightly nervous was just recently with losing Rosneft but after these results that has gone.
It’s an easy hold for a long time now, I’m very happy with buybacks and dept repayment as they make perfect sense. In 3-5 years we’ll reap the rewards big time!
Well Zac its clear you didn't understand how it works!
Before preaching on forums it’s best to research what happens when shares are bought back! If you don’t know just ask?…
It also appears you’re the one making claims without evidence! When you’re wrong it’s best just to hold your hands up :)
Slater… cherry picking the low was to highlight how moronic cherry picking the high was from another poster! We can all pick and choose our dates to suit which was my point! How you can’t see that is beyond me.
Some context is needed for the people continually moaning. This share was bouncing up very nicely until potential ww3 loomed and we’ve lost a big chunk of revenue from Russia!
Now these people are blaming looney and his strategy for this drop and then bashing buybacks!
Just a month or so ago he was being praised for everything!
People are fickle
Meoryou I don’t think zac is looking for a logical answer :)
Zac0 just users certain time periods to suit his negative views…
Totally pointless and we all know why the share dropped a couple of years ago.
Why doesn’t he say BP has risen 100% in 17 months? And the share buybacks have helped.
Shares in circulation dropped 600m in one year, if this continues and at an accelerated rate people will start to see a difference in the share price! Not overnight but the future looks great.
It’s 4.159 according to BP’s RNS which I’d say is more reliable :)
As far as I can see we have benefited from the exchange rate due to the weaker pound this month. I’m sure someone said we’d lost out but I think they did the calculation the wrong way round.
Oiled-up… I know your someone’s 2nd, 3rd or maybe 4th account so give it a rest!
We’ve read the same rubbish on these forum’s so many times!
Investing quarter of a million yet asking for advice/support here then continually bashing your investment! It’s quite comical tbh.
Nothing new about zac moaning when the share price dips! Funnily enough you never hear from them during recent highs!
Also there’s several comparing the oil/share price ratio right now to that of a few months ago or even 3 years ago is absolutely moronic! Have they not considered that some investors might be slightly nervous with what’s going on right now…
Never read so much rubbish! Keep it up though it’s good for a laugh :)
