I met Archie by chance in Scott’s London a few weeks ago, and thanked him for all he’s done at M&S and my wealth!

Frankly speaking, I am absolutely disgusted by the comment made by Southcoastbather against a man who can’t defend himself here.

To be brought into disrepute and his integrity challenged so severely, only in the job as group CEO since 1 November 2024, less than a year.

I feel quite sick actually, it’s beyond disgusting, it’s cowardice.

Appalling.

Defamation of someone’s character, totally unfair and unfounded, let alone unproven, is without question a step too far, and in a public place in writing.

He’s been the group CEO since 1 November 2024, just a short time in anyone’s judgement.

You have broken the law.

You can’t state someone is a ‘conman’ with its clear connotations, and get away with it.

100% agree Jimjam, I didn’t want to comment on the soft benefits m, but livery would be as you say.

Tim does not want to sell to M&S or anyone yet! YET, because once the JV is out of two-way clause, either can offer to third party and that’s 2026 midpoint.

£800 m because M&S would need to entice, unless OG get trapped with shortfall of free cash and can’t call on shareholders or sensible interest rate loans and need to start selling assets.

One way or another Tim will have to decide if OG is a tech co or a grocer, and the best thing he can do is sell the 50% JV to M&S.

OG as part of the sale becomes the systems provider.

M&S although operationally in control, it’s not in control of the tech capital.

The faster M&S get it 100% and use it to maximise delivery of more goods to FILL the vans, plus any back haul the better. But the price of the 50% is 750 m less 160m (final bonus not achieved) plus future goodwill, maybe shareholders would approve 800m for full buyout.

Let’s face it, you’ve been throwing out 30/40 posts a day on the negative side. Most of it completely insane considering we’ve had no data on current trading for 6 months.

I’ve never understood separate buyers for brands, nor would I keep a buyer in the same area for longer than 2 years.

In my experience familiarity between buyers and suppliers isn’t a good thing, it’s not profitable.

I’ve thought for a long time wage costs were not changing in the early days of brand ownership. They should have dropped as they integrated head offices, IT, etc

Walmart’s commercial buying gross is significantly higher than any retailer! If they can make profit-no one can.

It’s a good point that volume has come from buying back shorts snd selling.
