CAP-XX, the leading designer and manufacturer of prismatic and cylindrical can supercapacitors, has conditionally raised £2.75m and is looking to raise a further £0.75m via an open offer to fund the acquisition, relocation and recommissioning of certain manufacturing assets from Murata, a long-standing CAP-XX IP licensee. The proposed transaction represents a unique opportunity to transform CAP-XX’s profitability by increasing sales and gross margin at the product level for a minimal capital outlay and enable CAP-XX to fulfil the record level of sales enquiries. The deal provides access to established product designs, proven manufacturing assets and potential customers in CAP-XX’s target small form factor markets. It should also help with CAP-XX’s IP licensing strategy and accelerates its 3V roadmap. The acquisition will impact CAP-XX’s royalty revenues in the short-term and group gross margin but gross profit growth should accelerate and more than compensate. This should hasten CAP-XX’s move to profit.

I need to read these research notes a number of times to understand it.

I think this is a brilliant move for CAP-XX.

Licences and royalties were never going to make this a hugely profitable company. Maybe something like £2 million for a licence and about 5% royalties were never gong to make them huge profits. There's not enough Companies out there selling supercapacitors for CAP-XX to make a huge profit out of licences and royalties. With say 5% royalties the Companies have to sell a lot of CAP-XX products for CAP-XX to make a huge profit. Companies will put their efforts into where they make the most money for their own Company and not for another Company.

It's a no-brainer moving into manufacturing and selling your own products. This way you get all the profits and you're not handing over 95% of the profit to another company who is only paying you 5% royalties. CAP-XX are in control of everything and are not reliant on other companies to manufacture and sell their products. CAP-XX can focus on manufacturing and selling their own great products. Best place to be for CAP-XX.

I can see why CAP-XX started first with licences and royalties. They had to start somewhere and this was an obvious place for a small company like CAP-XX to do this. It was also a great learning place, a great stepping stone to get into your own manufacturing. This is where the money will be made, i.e. manufacturing and selling your own great products.

CAP-XX are ahead of the pack with their patents hence why they have to issue patent infringement complaint letters and then where there is no alternative take them to court.

CAP-XX have taken on Marco Ranalli because Murata's biggest market for supercapacitors was Europe. 60% sold to Europe. 30% to America. 10% to Asia.

CAP-XX are taking on sales people for Europe because this was Murata's biggest market for CAP-XX products.

CAP-XX are getting $100 million of manufacturing equipment for nearly bu**er all.

I think it's an excellent move. It's a no brainer for me.

The fact they've already raised £2.75 million from institutions shows the institutions like it too.

It amazes me that people don't understand how share prices work and yet they invest in shares.

When there's a placing/fundraising then the share price will go down to the placing/fundraising price. The share price will stay at the placing/fundraising price until the placing/fundraising has been completed.

Quilter, who were Old Mutual, reduced their holding from 15.13% to 14.95% on 9 September 2019.

A reduction of 0.28% which is about 800,000 shares out of 51 million shares, Bu**er all really.

Quilter now own about 50 million shares in CAP-XX

Well Repression, let's put it this way I bought shares in boohoo at 27p in 2015 and I am still holding my Boohoo shares. They're now standing at £3.15. I will be keeping them for 10 years plus, if not longer. I've been through boohoo going up to £2.70, back down to £1.50 and then back up to £2.60, then floated around a bit at this level and are now £3.15. I held all through this.

If you want to get rich then you buy shares when they're down and you hold them for at least 10 years plus.

If I had some spare money I'd be buying more CAP-XX. Any Christmas money coming will be going into this share. This is the sort of share Warren Buffett would be buying at this price and holding for ever or at least 10 years plus.

I can see now why the Chairman didn't know how to handle Collett's grilling yesterday and wouldn't let AK answer the question on the last fundraising. Her question was about the last fundraising when the Chairman cut her off. She was getting too close to what was happening. She had asked earlier about any future fundraising for this current year. The Chairman's answer was if there was a large transaction. She asked if this meant a large order and he repeated a large transaction.

I'm glad I made notes of everything that was said.

My take on this is that the defence of Ioxus will be something like we, Ioxus, did our own research and with the help of this and "God" we just happened to arrive at the same solution as the CAP-XX patent. It's a coincidence that we, Ioxus, got to the same solution as the CAP-XX patent and we,Ioxus, did nothing wrong.

This seems to me to be the Ioxus defence and I think Ioxus are hoping the subpoenas will help them with this defence.

My advice is still for all shareholders to email and tweet Ioxus and Tesla's Maxwell Technologies and to keep doing this.

It was obvious the Chairman has never had such a grilling and didn't know how to handle it.

This is what I gleaned in simple terms from the answers at the AGM, please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

CAP-XX are so ahead of the pack that the pack copies them without permission. Then CAP-XX have to stand up and say No you can't do that. Saying NO seems to have to be done on a regular basis and where they don't comply then CAP-XX have no alternative than to take them to court.

CAP-XX's business is so commercially sensitive that they are unable to give any information about it. This seems to be because the pack are so competitive and will grab anything they can.

CAP-XX stated Murata haven't stopped producing CAP-XX products.

CAP-XX are recruiting sales people for Europe because they see that as a market to be in.

The suggestion was for anyone who can afford it is to buy one of the big research reports into supercapacitors because this tells you about the future for supercapacitors, markets, companies, everything you could possibly want to know.

Cap-xx have lodged their answering brief to Tesla's Maxwell Technologies Motion to Dismiss. Well worth buying. It costs USD 5.50 to buy one document from Pacermonitor, if you're not a member, and it's worth the money.

It states in the rebuttal that the patent to infringe complaint covers at least Tesla's Maxwell Technologies supercapacitor Part No. BCAP3000-P270-K04 - see link above. Tesla's Maxwell Technologies were informed of this patent infringement complaint on or about 12 September 2017.

It also includes that the defendant (Tesla's Maxwell Technologies) is attempting to litigate the claims at the pleading stages, which is improper.
